It should be no surprise that Girls Generation member Seohyun is considering a role in an upcoming drama. The singer and accomplished pianist currently majors in acting at Dongguk Unviersity.

According to SM Entertainment, she recently received a casting offer for a drama called "Passionate Love" and she is seriously thinking about it.

"She is currently reviewing the offer and nothing has been decided as yet," said an SM Entertainment representative.

The supporting role she has been offered is that of Han Yoo Rim, an attractive college student majoring in veterinary science. Not much is known yet about the plot except that "Passionate Love" is said to be a melodrama about a couple that is brought together by tragedy. A young man pretends to be a college student to get close to her.

Although Seohyun is currently studying acting, her previous experience includes cameo roles, appearances on variety shows and narration. Aside from performing with Girls Generation on various shows, she was half of a virtual couple with CNBlue's Jung Yong Hwa on "We Got Married." The YongSeo couple filmed "We Got Married" episodes from February 2010 until April 2011. She also served as an emcee for the show "Gayo Daejun.

Taking the role of Han Yoo Rim means that the youngest member of Girls Generation will be following in the footsteps of fellow Girls Generation members by launching a serious acting career.

Yoona, who attends Dongguk University with Seohyun, is perhaps the most famous actress in the group. Yoona has done cameo appearances, had one supporting role in a drama and prominent roles in three dramas, "You Are My Destiny," "Love Rain" and "Cinderella Man."

Girls Generation member Kwon Yuri had cameo roles and played Choi Anna in the drama "Fashion King." Sooyoung had a supporting role in "Unstoppable Marriage," some cameo appearances, a leading role in "Third Hospital," and most recently played the romantic Gong Min Young in "Dating Agency: Cyrano." Jessica had three cameos before landing the role of Kang Jong Hee in "Wild Romance." So far, Girls Generation members Taeyon, Sunny and Tiffany have only had cameo roles, although Sunny did play herself in "Oh My Lady."

Seohyun and Taeyeon narrated the Korean version of the animated film, "Despicable Me," and signed on for "Despicable Me 2." Seohyun played Edith. They will also narrate the MBC variety show "Real Men."

Girls Generation recently celebrated its sixth anniversary as a group.
