The Star-Studded Wedding Of The Century
The wedding of Lee Byung Hun, 43 and Lee Min Jung, 31, which took place on August 10, has been called Korea's "wedding of the century." Although the wedding guest list was modest by celebrity wedding standards, the 900 guests included dozens of kdrama and kmovie celebrities.
The number of stars at the gathering is not surprising. Since Lee Byung Hun has been in two-dozen films and more than a dozen dramas, he's had lots of co-stars.
For example, Kim Tae Hee, who played his love interest in "Iris," attended, as did Choi Ji Woo, his "Beautiful Days" co-star. Jin Goo, who played Lee Byung Hun's brother in "All In" as there to wish him well.
Also in attendance were Jung Woo Sung, his co-star in the film "The Good, The Bad, and The Weird," and Song Seung Hoon, who appeared with the actor in the drama "Happy Together."
Lee Min Jung also has a few dramas and films to her credit and thus had a few celebrities to invite. Some of her co-stars attending the wedding included "Boys Over Flowers" co-star Kim Bum and "You Smile" co-star Choi Jun Yoon.
Quite a few celebrity couples came to the wedding, including actor Kwon Sang Woo and wife Song Tae Young, Han Ga In and husband Yun Jung Hoon, Yoo Ji Tae and Kim Hyo Jin, Jang Dong Gun and his wife Go So Young, Lee Chun Hee and Jeon Hye Jin.
A few celebrities showed up without a date. They included Jung Yumi, Choi Jung Yoon, Joo Sang Wook, Bae Soo Bin, Go Ara, Alex and Jeon Do Yeon. Kim Tae Hee attended without boyfriend Rain, who was recently discharged from the military.
Bruce Willis and Catherine Zeta-Jones, who co-starred with Lee Byung Hun in "Red 2" sent video messages of congratulations.
Thousands of fans showed up outside the hotel to catch a glimpse of Korea's Power Couple and other celebrities.
At the pre-wedding press conference, Lee Byung Hun made a heartfelt vow.
"I will live a full life every day and set happiness as the ultimate goal," he said while holding Lee Min Jung's hand. "This is the beginning of the second chapter of my life. I can't predict any future events but I promise to appreciate life's small joys."
Actor Shin Young Gyun officiated at the wedding, while actor Lee Bum Soo and Shin Dong Yup were emcees.
The couple left for their honeymoon in the Maldives and will live at his home in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province.
