Kwon Sang Woo and Son Tae Young Respond To Cheating Rumors
Kwon Sang Woo was shocked when he first read the rumors that he was dating Kang Ye Bin.
The actor, who is filming the upcoming drama, "Medical Top Team," has been happily married to actress Son Tae Young for five years and is a devoted father to their son, Luke. What's more, he has never even met Kang Ye Bin.
"I saw a pamphlet saying that I am in a relationship with Kang Ye Bin," said Kwon. "I'm frustrated because I know for a fact that it's someone else. I've never even seen her."
Apparently Kang, an actress and the Ultimate Fighting Championship Octagon Girl, selected him as her ideal type and that's what set the rumor mill off. It was rumored that a female star and a married male star went to Japan for a vacation together and some netizens matched up Kang's comment with Kwon. The rumor would have been easy enough to laugh off but the actor worried about the innocent lives it would affect.
"I can laugh about it but my family and fans, what have they done to deserve this," he said. "I'm flattered that she selected me as her ideal type but we've never met. I'm Son Tae Young's husband and Luke's father."
Were people spreading the rumors because they did not want him to be happy?
"Please don't be jealous of us," he said.
Kwon's agency, Bel Actors, announced that they would take legal action against anyone spreading the rumors.
According to a press release by Bel Actors, "Kwon Sang Woo as very shocked at the rumors that he has been seeing Kang Ye Bin. He left a post on his fan café after becoming concerned about the effect the rumors would have on his family and fans. We wish to clarify that the rumors related to Kwon Sang Woo are not true. It is sad that such baseless rumors are spread so easily."
The agency plans to find those who first spread the rumor as well as those who actively spread them and sue them for defamation.
Son Tae Young showed her support by posting a photo on her Facebook page. The text read, "Dear Tae Shin Sang Woo of Medical Top Team, I hope you're not too annoyed. Work hard."
Son Tae Young is currently filming in China, for her leading role in the upcoming movie, "PK Queen." The film is a romantic comedy about a sophisticated career woman who realizes something is missing in her life. Son just finished playing the role of Lee Hye Shin in "You're The Best Lee Soon Shin."
Kwon Sang Woo's new drama, which co-stars Jung Ryu Won, Joo Ji Hoon, Lee Jin, SHINee's Minho and Alex from the band Clazziquai, premieres in October after "Two Weeks."
