Sung Joon's last few roles have dubbed him The King Of Romantic Comedy and his upcoming drama may underscore that title. He played Jung Yu Mi's  dutiful boyfriend in "Discovery of Romance," Kim So Yeon's younger admirer in "I Need Romance 3" and the ambitious store manager in love with Uee in "High Society." Next he plays a psychologist who does not believe in love in "Madame Antoine."

What else should you know about this popular actor? Here are a few facts.

1. He debuted as an extra in "Personal Taste." In case you didn't notice he plays the model in a photo shoot done by Jo Eun Ji with the help of her best friend played by Son Ye Jin. And that's appropriate because he began his entertainment career as a model. In an interview with Vogue Girl he admitted that he didn't start modeling because he loved clothes. He just liked clothes more than he liked studying.

2. He originally dreamed of a musical career.

"I wanted to become a jazz pianist when I was young but I changed my dream to becoming a member of a rock band after I was hooked to rock music in high school," he said in an interview with 10Asia. So, it's also appropriate that his first leading role happened in "Shut Up Flower Boy Band," a drama about a high school band. He naturally played the leader of the band. Sung Joon's own musical tastes have been pretty eclectic ranging from The Doors to Kanye West to Radiohead.

3. Although Sung Joon  was raised in a wealthy family, the kids he hung out with in school tended to be poor ones. He said he got along best with kids like himself "who could not adapt."

"When I was in middle school, most of the friends I got along with were extremely poor," he said in the Vogue Girl interview. "I was the weird kid among them. People also looked at me like "why is this kid from a perfect household doing this?"

4. He was involved in a scandal with miss A's Suzy, although both insist it was pretty innocent. They co-starred in "Gu Family Book" and at a cast dinner during shooting, he was seen with his arm around her shoulder.

"Sung Joon and I hang out often because we are close. That's all," Suzy said in an interview with Newsen."There is nothing I can say if you ask me why Sung Joon put his arm around me... We are just good friends."

5. Sung Joon speaks English well having studied in New Zealand and England. He had the chance to speak English in "Pluto."
