'She Was Pretty' Attracts The Most Viewers

The MBC drama 'She Was Pretty' continues to lead in the ratings. The 12th episode reached 16.5 percent of the viewers, placing it way ahead of the competition.

The episode had a lot to offer. It featured some funny fan service from Kim Shin Hyuk, played by Choi Si Won, as he wandered around Sung Joon's apartment with his bright smile and nothing on but a towel.

This episode also featured some happy resolutions to the problems between Hwang Jung Eum's character Kim Hye Jin and her best friend Min Ha Ri, played by Go Joon Hee. Fortunately, their friendship will not be permanently damaged by Min Ha Ri's lies. Kim Hye Jin recognizes that she created the situation in the first place by asking Min Ha Ri to stand in for her.

Nor does Kim Shin Hyuk hate her. With his characteristic good humor and ability to laugh things off, Kim seems to have recovered somewhat from his rejection.

So, there is no longer anything in the way of happily ever after for Kim Hye Jin and Park Seo Joon's character Ji Sung Joon. Or is there?

There are four episodes to go and Min Ha Ri was not the only character with secrets to hide. Kim Shin Hyuk is a secret chaebol. Will Kim assume his rightful place at the helm of Most magazine? Will a change in his and Sung Joon's roles create more conflict and threaten the newly rediscovered relationship between Hye Jin and Sung Joon?

It will be interesting to see what kinds of complications the plot throws at the romance between these two characters.

The mood on the "She Was Pretty" set was positive this week, since the program enjoys such positive ratings. Actor Ji Sung, who previously appeared with Hwang Jung Eum and Park Seo Joon in "Kill Me, Heal Me," delivered a good truck to celebrate the drama's success. Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum also appeared in the melodrama "Secrets" together and he described her as a "precious person" to him.

As good as the ratings were this week, they did dip from last week. "She Was Pretty" set a record on the 22nd reaching 17.7 percent. That was the episode in which Ji Sung Joon and Kim Hye Jin first kissed.

How did the competition do? The KBS drama "The Merchant: Gaek Ju 2015," starring Jang Hyuk, earned a respectable 10. 1 percent. The spooky thriller "The Village: Achiara's Secret," which stars Moon Geun Young and BtoB's Yook Sung Jae, only reached 4.8 percent.
