Kdrama Actresses Who Are BFFs

Even though friendships between female characters are few and far between in kdramas, the actresses who star in them manage to make a few friends along the way.

A good example is Lee Bo Young who seems to have a few fellow kdrama actresses for girlfriends. She recently asked one of her closest friends, actress, composer, author and director Gu Hye Sun to sing at her wedding. Although Gu wrote her song "It's You," before Lee announced her marriage to fellow actor Ji Sung, she recently said that the song was destined to be sung at her friend's wedding.

The actresses have known each other since they worked together in the 2005 SBS drama "The Ballad of Seo Dong." Lee Bo Young played Princess Seon Hwa, while Gu Hye Sun played Eun Jin.

Gu must have known about Lee's upcoming wedding when Lee was filming "I Hear Your Voice" but the "Boys Over Flowers" star kept her friend's secret until the drama ended.

Actress Song Hye Kyo, former Fin.K.L member and actress Lee Jin and actress Han Hye Jin have been friends since high school, when they were called the "three pretty girls of Eunkwang Girl's High School." Song, the star of "That Winter The Wind Blows" is still friends with Han, who appeared in the drama "Syndrome," and Lee Jin, who was seen in the drama "The Secret of Birth" but Song is now also good friends with singer and actress Sung Yuri, who also appeared in "The Secret of Birth."

Singer and actress Suzy Bae, the star of "Dream High" and "Gu Family Book," is close friends with singer and actress IU, who was recently seen in "You're The Best Lee Soon Shin." The two already knew each other before they co-starred in "Dream High," but they became closer during the filming.

"We often support and comfort each other," said Suzy. "We're both busy but we text. Sometimes I complain about action scenes because they're hard and we give each other strength."

Suzy praises her friends acting. "I think she's really good and she has a lot of fun doing it. We talk about acting a lot."

When IU worried about taking the starring role in "You're The Best Lee Soon Shin," Suzy encouraged her.

"She told me to go for it," said IU.

Also good friends are Jung Ga Eun and actress Hwang In Young. Jung, who has a role in "The Master's Sun," frequently visited the set of Hwang's new film "Hero," to offer her support and encouragement.

Having a good friend can make the demanding schedules of kdrama filming easier to endure.
