When Park Shin Hye and Lee Min Ho were cast as a couple in "The Heirs' some netizens expressed concern that the two actors would not have any chemistry. No one doubted their ability to act or look great in a scene together but apparently they appeared in a photo shoot before and seemed stiff and awkward with each other.

Fortunately, stills from the set show that this will not be the case when "The Heirs" airs.

Their first scene together, filmed in August shows the characters locking eyes and they certainly look good together. He has his arm wrapped around her and is gazing at her with affection. Although she does not look completely convinced yet, it does seem as if sparks might fly between them.

According to sources on the set, the two actors are no longer awkward with each other. They have grown closer after participating in several script readings, rehearsals, and discussions with director Kang Shin Hyo.

And they are both consummate professionals. As soon as filming started Lee Min Ho became Kim Tan, the heir to The Empire Group and Park Shin Hye became Cha Eun Sang the poor girl he falls in love with.

"It's a lot of fun to work with people I respect so much," said Lee Min Ho of the director, his fellow actors and the production staff.

They are working hard at making their on-screen relationship happen.

"I have read the script many times and I'm using clothes and other props to get into the character of Cha Eun Sang," said Park Shin Hye. "I have asked the director to give me more detailed instructions so that I can portray my character properly."

According to representatives of the production company Hwa and Dam Pictures, the actors looked great together and are acting their parts convincingly.

"They showed such enthusiasm for the parts that it seemed like they have known each other for a very long time," said a Hwa and Dam representative.

Filming is now underway in California, where Lee Min Ho will film surfing scenes on Malibu beaches and other scenes at trendy Los Angeles locations. But most of the "Gossip Girls"-style drama will take place in an upscale high school. Also starring in the drama are Kim Woo Bin, Kim Ji Won, CNBlue's Kang Min Hyuk, and f(x)'s Krystal Jung.

Kim Eun Sook, who wrote "Secret Garden" and "Gentleman's Dignity," wrote the drama. "The Heirs" begins Oct. 9.
