Nam Joo Hyuk may join the cast of the highly anticipated Korean adaptation of "Bu Bu Jing Xin," "Moon Lovers."

On November 23, YG Entertainment confirmed that 21-year-old actor was positively considering a role in the series," which would air after his upcoming tvN drama, "Cheese in the Trap."

"Nam Joo Hyuk is in talks with the producers of 'Moon Lovers," said a spokesperson for YG, in a report published by Star News. "He has not yet confirmed his appearance, as his schedule is currently under review."

Buzz continues to surround "Moon Lovers," as the potential cast members continue to be announced. Lee Joon Gi (Scholar Who Walks the Night) is currently in consideration for the role of Gwangjong while Kang Ha Neul (Twenty, The Heirs) is confirmed to portray the second male lead.

EXO's Baekhyun is also being courted for a role in the series, along with model-turned-actor Hong Jong Hyun.

Director Kim Kyu Tae (It's Okay, That's Love) is at helm of the project, which sounds like it easily could be a period alternative to programs like "Flower Boy Ramyun Shop."

"Moon Lovers" is based on the 2005 novel, "Bu Bu Jing Xin," which marked the debut of contemporary Chinese romance writer, Tong Hua. The novel was initially published online and yielded a popular mainland China series, "Scarlet Heart."

The Korean adaptation of the popular tale will be centered on a heroine who is transported from modern times to the Goryeo period, where she will likely become entangled in a complicated romance with several handsome princes.

While the potential male protagonists continue to make headlines, the production team for "Moon Lovers" has yet to announce the actress who will be the lucky lady to appear in the series.
