Nina Dobrev Not Accepting Movies And TV Shows While Waiting For 'The Vampire Diaries' Return?

Months after her "The Vampire Diaries" departure, rumors that Nina Dobrev might be going back to the teen series have resurrected now that she is yet to rake in deals for movies and TV shows.

Is Nina Dobrev not accepting big projects for movies and TV shows because she's still waiting for the right time to return to the vampire series?

Rumors that the actress could be reprising her role as Elena Gilbert escalated after it has been reported that "The Vampire Diaries" staff wants her back on the show. Apparently, the staff would rather have Ian Somerhalder leave the show than Nina.

According to speculations, the staff finds Ian overly smug as he explained in an interview how great it is that the show is now focused on his character after Nina Dobrev's departure.

"What we've just started shooting is such a departure (from what is expected of the show)," Ian Somerhalder reportedly told Variety about the development of the story of "The Vampire Diaries" without Nina Dobrev.

"I just started shooting episode 10, which is a concept episode. The episode was really about Damon, but that's not why I think it was the best at all. The way the story was put together ... every artisan from set to producers to wardrobe to everyone was just so on-point."

However, Paul Wesley seemed to have spoken up for the rest of "The Vampire Diaries" staff by expressing that the story would not survive if it's focused on Damon alone.

"They (Damon and Stefan) should be teaming up and fighting the negative outside forces. There's no room for them to be at odds with each other. There's just no room for either one of them to be the villain," Paul Wesley said, as quoted by Collider.

Will Nina Dobrev keep on stalling making movies and TV shows until she gets the chance to go back to the vampire teen series?

It could be recounted that Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder dated back when they were still co-stars in "The Vampire Diaries."

After the two broke up, Ian Somerhalder dated Nina Dobrev's friend, Nikki Reed. Ian and Nikki tied the knot earlier this year.
