'Coldplay' To Perform At NFL Event 'Super Bowl' Golden Jubilee Celebrations

National Football League recently announced that Coldplay, rock band will perform at the traditional American "Super Bowl 50" halftime event in 2016, according to The Wall Street Journal.

NFL announced the breaking news of Coldplay's performance on Thursday night during the football game between the "Detroit Lions" and "Green Bay Packers." 

The rock band's lead singer, Chris Martin and other band mates, Guy Berryman, Will Champion and Jonny Buckland, recently signed a contract of agreement to perform at the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the NFL event, which is sponsored by PepsiCo Inc.

US Magazine reported that Coldplay will perform at the halftime of the annual championship game at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The band will not be paid for their performance at the football event, but the organizers will bear their production and travel costs.

Chris Martin revealed the news on the band's official Twitter page and through a short video. He expressed his excitement and happiness and termed the upcoming performance at the NFL event as one of lifetime experience for the rock band.

"This is the greatest moment in our band's life and we are going to give it everything we have," said Martin in the promotional video, reported USA Today.

Earlier this year, the football halftime event witnessed dazzling performances by Katy Perry, Missy Elliott and Lenny Kravitz. Bruno Mars, American singer will also give a short performance at the football match in 2016 along with Beyoncé, Madonna and Bruce Springsteen, all popular singers.

Coldplay's latest album "A Head Full of Dreams" is slated to release on December 4, 2015. The band has decided not to make their new album available on "Spotify," as it provides a free service to all its 80 million users.

According to BBC News, the album would be available on online music streaming services which don't offer free service like, "Apple Music" and many more. The band members are also planning to go on a concert tour in North America for their new album. The band will start selling the tickets for their upcoming tour just after their performance at "Super Bowl 50" event, reported The Wall Street Journal.

Coldplay has also announced a free live show in Paris on December 9, as a tribute to all the victims and survivors of the recent deadly terrorist attacks.

The most loved and watched football game in the United States is slated to be held on February 7, 2016.
