Park Hyung Sik will play a role in "Hwarang," a drama about the beautiful knights or "flower boys" of the ancient Korean kingdom of Silla. And according to his agency Key East, Park Seo Joon is still considering the drama.

Park Hyung Sik will play a young king and Park Seo Joon may well play one of the "flower boy" knights of the ancient Silla kingdom. The Hwarang or Flowering Knights were a group of wellborn young Silla males  known for their beauty and skill. Some more make-up and ornaments but they were also talented fighters known for their swordsmanship.

That may be one reason this historical drama is being produced by Oh Boy Company, the production company responsible for previous flower boy dramas such as tvN's "Flower Boy Ramen Shop" and "Flower Boys Next Door." The Silla Hwarang were the flower boys of their time.

According to Park Hyung Sik's agency Star Empire Entertainment, the actor will play the role of Sam Maek Jong.

"This is another name for King Jin Heung, who contributed to the territorial expansion of Silla. As it's a production with high expectations, Hyung Sik is training in every area."

King Jin Heung was the 24th monarch of Silla and he ascended the throne when he was only 15. Considered one of the greatest Silla rulers, he established the basis for the unification of Korea.

Park Seo Joon will have to decide on his participation soon. The drama is set to film from January to May in Korea and China.

According to the KBS production team told the Korean media outlet OSEN that discussions were still underway.

"Nothing is confirmed yet, but we're currently discussing 'Hwarang.'"
