AOA member Seol Hyun was the most searched celebrity on Naver this year, according to the Korean media outlet Chosun Ilbo.

Since her debut with AOA in 2012 her name recognition has gradually and steadily increased, in part due to her appearances in the dramas "My Daughter Seo Young" and "Ugly Alert." But her celebrity status increased dramatically in the past year.

The 20-year-old actress enjoyed a busy year. With each new appearance and accomplishment, the number of searches jumped.

The number of searches jumped 30 times after she appeared on the panel of the reality show "Brave Family" in January. She won viewers over with her unaffected charm.

On February it was revealed that she would play the female lead in the teen vampire drama "Orange Marmalade, which began airing in May. She earned praise for her role as the vampire girl who just wanted to be normal. And the number of searches went up again.

It wasn't just her acting that attracted attention. She also landed several modeling jobs for major brands in 2015, appearing in ad campaigns such as the SK Telecom campaign in April.

In May she played the leading role in  N.Flying's debut music video "Awesome."

When she appeared on the variety show "Running Man" in July the number of searches jumped dramatically again.

Seol Hyun also attracted plenty of attention when the film "Gangnam Blues" was released. In that film she played the role of Lee Min Ho's beloved younger sister. Not bad for a screen debut and she beat out 500 actresses for the role.  In November she won a popular star award for the role at the 36th Blue Dragon Film Awards.

In August she landed a role in the upcoming thriller movie "Murderer's Guide To Memory," playing the murderer's daughter. Her co-stars are Kim Nam Gil and Sol Kyung Gu. The movie will be released in 2016.

And Seol Hyun reunited with her "Gangnam Blues" co-star in November when the actors were selected  as promotional ambassadors for Visit Korea Year.

It has been an impressive year for the singer-actress. And 2016 could be even better.
