Lee Bo Young Offered Lead Role in Mother
Lee Bo Young (God's Gift - 14 Days) has been offered the lead role in the new tvN drama Mother. Mother is a remake of the popular Japanese drama of the same name and is about a woman who kidnaps a mistreated little girl and becomes her mother. The Korean version will be penned by Jung Seo Kyung who wrote the movies Thirst and The Handmaiden.
Apparently, several actresses have been approached for the title role, but I can definitely see Lee Bo Young as this character. I haven't seen the original Japanese drama, but I'm aware of it's success, and I'm interested in the Korean take on it.
Mother is looking to premiere in the first half of 2017 of tvN.
