K-Pop Idols Who Starred In October Dramas

It is a known fact that K-idols are everywhere. From commercial advertisements to musical productions, it wouldn't be a surprise if an idol is included somewhere in the mix. This causes eyebrows to rise in suspicion as to whether these idols can deliver a line, but despite the many controversies surrounding their casting, they keep proving that they are not only dedicated to giving their best in their performances, but also in their acting projects.

The month of October saw comebacks and debuts for many idols-actors in the K-Drama industry, so check out the idols who are currently starring in dramas.

1.    f(x)'s Krystal, CNBLUE's Minhyuk and ZE:A's Hyungsik

"The Heirs" is regarded as one of the most popular dramas this month, and three from their lead cast are idol-actors. f(x)'s Krystal plays the character Lee Bo Na, the heiress of Mega Entertainment and ex-girlfriend of Kim Tan (Lee Min Ho). CNBLUE's drummer Minhyuk plays Bo Na's current boyfriend Yoon Chan Young, who is also Cha Eun Sang's (Park Shin Hye) best friend. ZE:A's Hyungsik plays the role of Jo Myung Soo, the heir of the largest law firm in Korea who doesn't want to inherit the family business.

2.    CNBLUE's Yonghwa

"Future's Choice" is the story about a woman who is visited by her future self to help her in choosing who she should love. It stars CNBLUE's frontman Yonghwa as Park Seju, an entertainment company CEO's grandson who goes undercover as a rookie DJ to study how things are from the bottom of the company ladder, and he is one of the love interests of the main character Na Mi Rae (Yoon Eun Hye).

3.    SHINee's Minho

"Medical Top Team" revolves around the story of Gwanghye University Hospital's elite medical team, a group of doctors who are considered to be the best in their respective fields. SHINee's Minho is casted as Doctor Kim Sung Woo, the youngest doctor in the group, who befriends everyone because of his good-hearted nature.

4.    B1A4's Baro and Tiny G's Dohee

"Answer Me 1994", while more popularly dubbed as the "second Answer Me 1997" despite its entirely different set of cast and story line, has reached impressive ratings for its first four episodes. Bringing an interesting color to the highly mismatched group of college students from outside of Seoul are B1A4's Baro, who plays the med student Binggeure, and Tiny G's Dohee, who plays the Seo Taiji fangirl and computer engineering student Yoo Jin.

Meanwhile, here is the list of idols who have been casted this October to star in future dramas.

1.    4minute's Jihyun and INFINITE's Sungyeol

"Love Potential" is a mobile drama based on the popular story "Love of an Engineering Student". It stars INFINITE's Sungyeol as the regular college student Gi Yeok, who does everything to win the heart of his ideal type, and 4minute's Jihyun will be portraying the character Min Ah, the college campus queen.

2.    Girls' Generation's Yoona

"Prime Minister and I" is the modern take on the classical movie "Sound of Music", which stars Girls' Generation's Yoona as the young tutor to the children of the prime minister, who will be portrayed by Lee Bum Soo. The casting has received negative comments regarding the big age gap between the cast, but the drama writers remain loyal to the original story.

3.    After School's UEE

"Golden Rainbow" is a story of seven orphaned children who face hardships and problems together as siblings, and After School's UEE will portray the role of Baek Won, the oldest of the group.

4.    IU

"Pretty Man" is about the most beautiful man in the world named Dokgo Matte (Jang Geun Suk),who can make any woman fall in love with him. Solo artist IU will star as Kim Bo Tong, a simple yet feisty girl who has been determined to do everything for Dokgo Matte's happiness since she fell in love with him when they were in high school.
