Yoon Yeo-Jeong who appeared in the Korean-American film ''Minari'' directed by Chung Yi-sak becomes a candidate for the next Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actress.

The US media, Awards Watch, published an article that predicted the 2021 Academy Awards on 17th. Yoon Yeo-jung was chosen as one of the prominent actresses to be nominated for the Best Supporting Actress award.

The media chose Yoon Yeo-Jeong, who played the role of a grandmother in the "Minari" as a strong candidate for the Best Supporting Actress award with Olivia Colman, who starred in "The Father."

Minari is a film about a Korean-American family who went to a farm in Arkansas having the American dream in the 1980s. Han Ye-ri, Stephen Yeon, Yoon Yeo-Jung, Will Patton, Alan Kim, and Noel Kate Cho are also casts in the film.

The film won the U.S. Grand Jury Prize in the dramatic category, as well as the Audience Award, at the 36th Sundance Film Festival in the United States.
