Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation extended its appreciation to Kim Woo Bin's donation to support children with cancer. AM Entertainment, the actor's managing agency, released a statement regarding this good deed.

"Actor Kim Woo Bin decided to donate after hearing that children with cancer, whose immune system has weakened due to chemotherapy, are having trouble getting masks with coronavirus," the agency stated.

Early this year, Kim Woo Bin, together with celebrities Park Shin Hye and Yoo Hae Jin, joined in a documentary film. MBC started the project in its cause to provide awareness for the animals' struggle in the wild. They called it "Humanimal."

Kim Woo Bin's main part was to narrate all compiled videos from his fellow actors' encounters with the animals. The documentary film covered 11 countries with pre-existing records in mistreating animals, such as Zimbabwe, Botswana, parts of America and South Africa.

The unforgettable experience of Park Shin Hye's visit was witnessing a dead elephant. The video saddened Kim Woo Bin, as he realized how animals are tortured and killed by hunters. The 5-episode docuseries made a huge impact on the viewers around South Korea.

Kim Woo Bin kick-started his career as a runway model. He met prominent actors and agencies at the time, which became his path to a career in acting. The actor appeared in "White Christmas" as his debut on television. Soon after he received supporting or guest roles in various Korean films, such as in "A Gentleman's Dignity," "School," "The Heirs," "Friend: The Great Legacy" and "The Con Artist." His first leading character is in the drama "Uncontrollably Fond" with singer-actress Suzy Bae.

Aside from his acting projects, Kim Woo Bin joined various groups as an ambassador, such as the following:

2013 Honorary Ambassador - Jeonju University

2013 Public Relations Ambassador - Suwon Information Science Festival

2013 Ambassador - Good Downloader Campaign

2015 Promotional Ambassador - CJ CGV's

2018 Honorary Ambassador - Winter Olympics

A shocking shift in Kim Woo Bin's life happened in 2017. He was diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal cancer, which led him to take a hiatus from acting and be exempted from his military services. In the same year, he battled the illness by undergoing an all-radiation treatment and taking prescribed drug medications. He issued a statement last December 2019 that he finished all his treatment.

There is no wonder why Kim Woo Bin's heart chose to give a part of his earnings. His journey in fighting against the big C helps him understand those who are in need. The children affected with cancer made all the necessary precautions against the pandemic coronavirus.

The foundation made sure to secure all the precautionary health equipment for the children. The management and Secretary-General issued a letter of appreciation to Kim Woo Bin for his generous donations.
