Lee Yi Kyung, 31, who is popularly known for his roles in the Korean dramas Go Back Couple and Eulachacha Waikiki, just restored faith in humanity when he aided a life or death situation, in which a man he happened to pass by was attempting to commit suicide.
According to Sports World, a Korean man was found in Hannam Bridge trying to take his own life, waiting for a truck to hit him. However, the truck driver was quick to avoid the man, preventing the unfortunate accident. But the man was persistent to end his life that day and attempted once again to be hit by a car.
Luckily, the car behind the truck driver was actor's Lee Yi Kyung. When he saw the man, he stopped the vehicle to preempt the accident and tried to catch the apparently drunk man.
As the attempted suicide has been stopped with the help of the concerned citizens, the drunk man's last attempt was to throw himself at the bridge, but Lee Yi Kyung rescued him once again by going out his car, held onto him, gave his jacket amidst the cold weather and waited patiently with the citizen for the police to take over the scene.
Lee was also said to have waited until he was sure enough that the man was finally safe from harming himself.

The incident reportedly occurred in Seoul at the dawn of March 18 and 19. And despite wanting to keep it a secret from the public, the news about Lee Yi Kyung's altruism still came out. Fans and netizens expressed their proud hearts for Yi Kyung not only for his bravery but for also remaining humble as he didn't use the incident for popularity or to gain anything in return.
Meanwhile, his courageous act brought back the topic when he was appointed as the ambassador for goodwill for the National Police Agency in November of 2019.
At that time, Lee Yi Kyung said, "I am very grateful for giving me such a great award. I will also actively help everyone to maintain a beautiful and peaceful Korea."
