"Dinner Mate" Recap: Fate Leads Doo Hee And Dr. Kim Meet For The Second Time
Kim Hae Kyung invited Woo Doo Hee to a late dinner after a rough day together. He canceled his flight to Seoul and came back to spend time with her.
After choosing a food truck for their first dinner together, they decided to stay in one place by renting two rooms. Doo Hee went out and finished the bottle of champagne by herself. Kim saw from his window, went down to tell her to go inside her room. Sadness hit her thinking of her cheating boyfriend.
They both intended to return to Seoul early that day. Doo Hee asked Dr. Kim to allow her to treat him to a good meal in the city. Dr. Kim agreed to see her again after "Tae Jin-ah's music tops the chart." Doo Hee accepted but thinking no assurance if the song will make it. She never gets Dr. Kim's name, job, or any personal information from him, which leaves no way to contact each other.
The next day, Doo Hee reports to her work and gets scolded by CEO Nam for ruining their show before she left for Jeju. To get her job back, CEO Nam gives her a task to find Dr. Kim Hae Kyung. He is a well-known food psychologist, an author, a podcaster, and no other channels or directors get the chance to put him on any show. A video circulated in the media as they call him "Hakju-dong Hero." Doo Hee tried to get in touch with Dr. Kim, but he denied all her invitations.
Doo Hee ruined her chance to get Dr. Kim to her show as their exchanged emails got out of control. They fought through their messages and made both of them hate each other. Dr. Kim reported Doo Hee to her CEO as she used bad names to describe him in her letters. He went to her office, but Doo Hee left before he arrived. He was furious as he talked with CEO Nam about his disappointments. But Doo Hee also went to Dr. Kim's clinic and failed to see him.
To their surprise, "She Comes and Goes" song by trot Tae Jin-ah hits the chart at number 1. Dr. Kim promised Doo Hee at Jeju Island. If the song hits the charts, they will meet at 8:00 p.m. at Daedong Fish Market.
Doo Hee stepped out of the clinic and headed to the market with hesitation. As she parks her car near the side of the road, her car gets hit at the back. Then, she alighted to see how bad it is. She called the man from the other vehicle to step out and check the damage the man complied with. And to her surprise, it was trot singer Tae Jin-ah. He apologized for what happened and gave her his card details. Doo Hee was speechless to meet the famous singer.
Doo Hee decided to proceed to the market and saw Kim Hae Kyung standing at the other side, smiling at her.
