"Backstreet Rookie" Recap: Dae Hyun is in Big Trouble Saving His Relationship With Yeon Joo

Saet Byul decided to stop working in the convenience store to give Yeon Joo's requests. Dae Hyun was surprised to hear the news and hide it from his parents. It wasn't the happiest day she was discharged from the hospital. They were scammed by the real estate agency and was kicked out by their rented apartment. Eun Byul was furious, not having a good place to stay.

Trying to find ways to get enough funds to rent a new place, Saet Byul worked as a delivery girl. She felt nervous about it, but she hoped to get a good salary. Her rich friend Geum Bi invited the two sisters to stay with her. Eun Byul felt happy to get a good place to stay.

Dae Hyun's mother kept on asking when would Saet Byul return to work, their sales are declining, and they had a hard time working on shift. With a kind gesture, Dae Hyun bought new protective gear for Saet Byul to use while driving her motorcycle.

Unlucky, Saet Byul got into a road accident and destroyed the goods she needs to deliver. She lost her job once again and ended up paying for the damages. Meanwhile, Dae Hyun is excited about the upcoming anniversary and plans to surprise Yeo Joo to watch the opera show, as he got a general admission ticket, which is too hard to get.

But on the last-minute, Yeon Joo canceled the invitation and expressed she can't join Dae Hyun due to work. Without Dae Hyun's knowledge, Yeon Joo accompanies director Cho and their foreign investors instead, to watch the same opera show on a royal seat. Dae Hyun felt sad about it but did not fight with her.

Eun Byul was accepted as a trainee in an entertainment agency. She chose to run away and pursue her dreams without telling her sister Saet Byul. As she read Eun Byul's message and took her money, Saet Byul was devastated. Though she tried to find Eun Byul's whereabouts, she was nowhere to find.

Saet Byul slept in the sauna for the night, and luckily, Dae Hyun's mother Boon Hee found out what happened. She invited her to sleep in their house while she is still looking for a place to stay.

The next day, Dae Hyun went home late at night and met Saet Byul wearing her sleeping dress. He was shocked as he mistook Saet Byul as a ghost and asked the young lady to leave. But Boon Hee is firm to let Saet Byul while he slept at the store for the meantime. Boon Hee indeed treated Saet Byul like her own daughter as she also cleaned the room and prepared homecooked meals.

Saet Byul continued to look for Eun Byul. She asked help from her good friend and actor Ji Wook to check any talent agency he may know. Eun Byul did not answer her calls and never replied to her messages as well. On the other side, Dae Hyun could get other tickets for the opera and invited Yeon Joo to watch with him again, not knowing she actually watched it already. Though he tried hard to spend time with her, Yeon Joo decided to go home right after the show.

As he was going home feeling down, Dae Hyun saw the real estate owner who scammed Saet Byul. They chased him, but he was quick to escape with all the money with him. She felt more frustrated thinking about the incident again.

Yeon Joo realized how unfair she treated Dae Hyun as her boyfriend. She wanted to make up with him. Yeon Joo rushed to Dae Hyun's place and met his mother.

Boon Hee invited her for a cup of tea and glad to see Dae Hyun. He tried to let Yeon Joo step out of the house, but it was too late. Saet Byul arrived with a bag of food for Dae Hyun's mother.
