Shin Min Ah's Upcoming Film "Diva" Releases First Poster
The upcoming movie "Diva," starring Shin Min Ah, released its first poster!
"Diva" mystery thriller tackles two female friends and their passion for being an athlete. Shin Min Ah, in character as Lee Young, is nicknamed the "diva of the diving world." She cares much about her best friend Soo Jin, played by Lee Yoo Young.
To help, Lee Young changes her event to synchronized swimming. They practiced hard in preparation for the Olympics selection practice, but they are involved in an accident. Soo Jin disappears without a trace, while Lee Young struggles to regain her memories. She remembers strange things about Soo Jin, which start to unfold their stories.
This film marks Shin Min Ah's return to the silver screen after four years. Her last appearance was a cameo in the movie "A Quiet Dream," while in drama, she starred in JTBC's "Chief Of Staff" 2019.
The actress is known for her roles in "A Love To Kill," "A Bittersweet Life," "The Best and the Beauty," and "My Love, My Bride." The upcoming film will give her fans something new through the role of an aspiring athlete and a skilled swimmer.
The image poster showed a close up picture of the actress, with a cold aura while the other corner of her mouth is slightly upwards. The written text atop her head reads, "You Want My Spot?," a question that can be a clue of how tight the competition and greed may have existed between the friendship of Lee Young and missing athlete Soo Jin.
Another tagline text next to the title reads, "The descent to the top," which provides mystery in the sport of diving with all journeys of each athlete to become the best among the rest.
The script reading and gosa ceremony of the film were in June 2018. Lee Yoo Young as Soo Jin is a competitive diver and good friend of Shin Min Ah in the movie, and also who went missing after the accident.
Lee Yoo Young's last film was in 2018 "The Soul Mate," and drama series in "The Lies Within" in 2019.
Both actresses should have splashed their way into the pools with their characters. According to Shin Min Ah after she read the script, she absorbed in practicing diving to get into the character of "diva of the diving world." She wishes to do her best to create a great film.
Actor Lee Kyu Hyung plays the diving coach of Lee Young and Soo Jin. Oh Ha Nee will also grace the film as an athlete who admires Lee Young.
The film is directed by Jo Seul Ae, who is grateful for the actors who take something new out of their acting field. She commented, "This is the first film that uses the subject of diving in a mystery thriller. This is a new challenge for the actors and staff, and I thank them for their commitment."
