List Of Korean Shows That Filmed Some Their Scenes In The Philippines

It's an ultimate dream of the Hallyu fans in the Philippines to one day visit South Korea. However, the same as to what Filipino fans feel, the Philippines is also considered as one of the favorite travel destinations of Koreans as well as other foreigners.

You might be surprised to discover that some South Korean films or shows with their famous Hallyu celebrities came to the Philippines to film some of their scenes in the said country. We know for sure that the Philippines is a unique tropical place that has one of a kind scenery that everyone wants to experience.

So we have compiled for you 5 Korean shows that chose the "Pearl of the Orient Seas" (Philippines) as part of their filming spots.

Law of the Jungle

Law of the Jungle is a South Korean reality-documentary show that airs in the SBS network. This show features some selected Korean stars that are being sent to secluded islands all over the world, and they will experience the survival in nature. Few episodes of the said show starred Korean celebrities and K-pop idols like EXID's Hani and Lovelyz' Yein that was aired from February to June 2020 was filmed in Coron, Palawan, Philippines. This is a famous tourist spot in the country which has very lovely beach scenery.

The Fugitive: Plan B

In case you were not aware, famous Korean celebrity Rain had a scene filmed in Batangas, Philippines. In this show, Rain portrays the character of a Korean private investigator that was framed and accused of the death of his best friend. You will see in the first episode of the show, that Rain's scene was filmed in a panoramic location with Greek-style pillars; this scene was filmed in a resort named Fortune Island located in Nasugbu, Batangas, Philippines.

Cabin Crew

Korean Reality show "Cabin Crew" features famous Korean stars that swap careers from being celebrities to being flight stewards/stewardess. The first season of the said show starred Korean celebrities, namely Shin Hyun Joon, Hwang Je Seong, Girl's Day's Yura, DIA's Ki Hui Hyeon, and 2AM's Jeong Jin Woon was filmed in the beautiful island of Boracay, Philippines! And its second season features Song Yunhyeong from K-pop group iKON, SechsKies member Eun Ji Won, and singer UEE. They switched jobs as flight attendants in the well-known airline company in the Philippines, which is Cebu Pacific.

Forest

The Korean drama Forest that aired in January 2020, tells the story about two people who slowly discovered their connection with one another in their past. The said drama was mostly shot in Gangwon Province, South Korea. However, the drama's cast, as well as the production team, flew to the Philippines to take some scenes there. The location was at Okada Manila, SM Mall of Asia, and Intramuros.

No Breathing 

South Korean sports-themed film No Breathing features the story in the world of competitive swimming which stars actors Seo In-guk, Lee Jong-suk and Kwon Yuri. This film has scenes that take place in pools or beaches. Since the Philippines is a tropical country with lots of amazing beaches, they decided to take some shots in this beautiful country. They filmed in these Philippines destinations: Marco Polo Hotel, Aldevinco Shopping Center, the Pearl Farm Resort in Samal Island, and the Davao del Norte Sports Complex in Tagum City.

The Philippines is a Wonderful country, no wonder why some international shows often choose this country as part of their filming location.
