Choi Jin Hyuk Confirms to Make a Special Appearance in tvN's 'Queen Cheorin'

Choi Jin-hyuk is confirmed to make his special appearance in the comedy-fantasy sageuk (historical drama) of tvN, Queen Cheorin. Choi's character is anticipated to be an important role that the viewers should look forward to in the series.

Queen Cheorin is a union of comedy and fantasy series set during the Joseon Dynasty. It is a story of a modern-day chef who will find himself trapped inside the body of Queen So-yong in the Joseon period. The series is expected to tackle the gender stereotypes that occur during the past.

Choi Jin-hyuk's character in the series is yet to be announced, but tvN's production management already gave out clues that his role is important in the character development of the main leads. Choi is known as a great actor that always go beyond the viewer's expectation. His performance with his role in Queen Cheorin is something that the audience will be looking forward to.

Choi Jin-hyuk is popular for his acts in the supporting roles he got in Gu Family Book and The Heirs in 2013. Choi's spectacular portrayals of his roles lead him to have his main roles in Emergency Couple in 2014 with Running Man star Song Ji-Hyo. Choi also showed his crack side in the legal rom-com series Pride and Prejudice in 2014. In 2018, Choi starred along with Jang Na Ra in a historical drama The Last Empress. He recently starred in Rugal.

The versatility of Choi Jin-hyuk's acting continued in his current comedy-fantasy series The Zombie Detective. Choi is playing the character of Kim Moo-young, a zombie who mimics human mannerisms to survive. Choi's previous works prove that the actor's appearance in the series will go beyond what others expected to see.

Queen Cheorin will star Shin Hye-sun, Kim Jung-Hyun, Bae Jong-ok, and Kim Tae-woo. Other characters are expected to be revealed as the date of the release comes close. The series is directed by Yoon Sung-Shik, director of the popular series Hwarang and Tower of Babel. The script is written by Park Gye-ok, writer of Doctor Prisoner and Inspiring Generation, along with the writer of the 2007 film Lovers of Six Years, Choi Ah-il.

Shin Hye-sun will be playing the role of Queen So-yong, the body where the modern-day chef will be trapped. Queen Cheorin is Shin's first role in a sageuk or historical drama series. Popular for her lead role in the series My Golden Life in 2017, Angel's Last Mission in 2019, and her recent film Innocence, Shin is expected to play show off her skill in acting in her powerful character as royalty. Shin will also participate in CJ ENM's new movie Collectors to be released on Nov. 4.

Kim Jung-Hyun will be portraying the character of a hideous King Cheol-jong. Kim's character is a deceptive king that only looks like a gentleman outside but is really fiery on the inside. Kim's notable character in the series Don't Dare to Dream, The Rebel, Crash Landing on You, and Dinner Mate makes the viewers expect the actor's duality as a serious and comedic King in the series.

Queen Cheorin is the newest addition on the line-up of series of tvN that the viewers should look forward to. The series is expected to air this December.
