NCT Doyoung to Make Acting Debut
NCTzens, are you ready? NCT member Doyoung will follow his brother's footsteps and make his debut as an actor!
According to an exclusive report from SPOTV, NCT member Doyoung will be making his acting debut, taking on the lead role in the upcoming MBC drama titled 'The Curious Stalker.'
'The Curious Talker' follows the story of an 18-year-old high school story that is set in a cafe. It is a fantasy drama that focuses on the themes of growth and healing. This drama is the third installment of MBC's 'Late Night Cafe'.
This is Doyoung's first time tackling an acting role. Expectations are high for Doyoung, who has previously been active in music programs as an MC and numerous shows. He is also known for his outstanding singing skills and his ability to put on colorful performances on stage. With his ability to feel the music and hone its emotions, fans expect him to act amazingly.
Additionally, fans are also looking forward to Doyoung's acting as he is the younger brother of actor Gong Myung. Gong Myung first debuted in 2013 in the film 'If You Were Me 6'. Gong Myung rose to fame in 2019 with his role in the film 'Extreme Job,' which is the second-most viewed film in South Korean film history and was a major box office success. Due to his popularity from the film, he already has films lined up for 2021 and films with no announced release date yet. Fans are wondering if being able to act is a talent that runs in the family. Gong Myung is part of the actor-idol group, 5urprise.
Doyoung is the third NCT member to tackle acting, following in the footsteps of Jaemin and Jaehyun. Jaemin first debuted as an actor in 2019 with the JTBC4 drama 'Method to Hate You.' The drama was well-loved and scored Jaemin a 'Best Actor' award in the Seoul Webfast Award for his role in 'Method to Hate You.'
Jaehyun was announced to make his acting debut back in August with the Playlist Global series 'Dear.M.' He will be playing a character named Minho, but no other news about the character is known. It is scheduled to air early next year.

ABOUT DOYOUNG
Doyoung is a South Korean singer and soon-to-be actor. In 2013, Doyoung was scouted in a singing competition and signed with SM Entertainment as a trainee. In 2015, he was introduced as a member of SM Rookies.
In April 2016, Doyoung debuted as an idol in the first NCT sub-unit, NCT U. Later in November, he debuted as a member of NCT 127 as a new member of the group. From 2017-2018, he worked as an MC for 'Inkigayo' alongside BLACKPINK's Jisoo and GOT7's Jinyoung.
Doyoung has collaborated with several artists, including SHINee's Key, BoA, Super Junior's Siwon, J-Min, Girls' Generation's Sunny, EXO's Suho, Red Velvet's Wendy, Rocoberry, and Kim Sejeong.
