Yoon Yeo Jung continues to make waves in the international scene alongside the cast of "Minari." The drama film, directed and written by Lee Isaac Chung, earned six nods for the Oscars 2021.

It came after The Academy Awards recently unveiled the final list of nominees, and "Minari" managed to score major nominations. This includes Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Director, Best Original Musical Score, Best Actor for Steven Yeun, and Best Supporting Actress Yoon Yeo Jung.

To recall, the 74-year-old actress performed the role of an unconventional grandmother Soon-ja who lived alongside her daughter's family in the United States in search of their American dream.

In a recent report, Yun Yeo Jung shared her thoughts about the major achievements of "Minari." The veteran actress, who played various roles and portrayed complicated characters in the past, gave a piece of advice and said, "Whatever you do, you do it differently."

Interestingly, the "Canola" star did not just score major nods but broke the record of being the first Korean actress to be nominated at the prestigious Academy Award.

Yoon Yeo Jung Discusses Her International Debut

Moreover, the Oscar contender details her experience working with Chung and her international film debut. In an interview with Observer.com, Yun Yeo Jung shared that she's very fortunate to be working with the "Minari" director.

Moreover, she also pointed out that American born filmmaker is very "open" and has shown trust and faith in her as an actor.

"I know many of them from Korea, but luckily and fortunately, Isaac was very open-minded about my acting, and he trusted me. He has a faith on me, so I could play with my freedom. I was very grateful," she explained.

As for working with the "Walking Dead" star and newcomer Alan Kim, she mentioned that she predicted that Yeun "will do good" in the movie.

Lo and behold, his role as the patriarch, Jacob, earned him a ton of nominations, including Best Actor for Academy Award, Critics' Choice Movie Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and Independent Spirit Award for Best Lead.

Working with seven-year-old Alan was a different story for Yun Yeo-jung. Given that he never experienced acting before, the veteran actress thought that they might encounter concerns.

"Alan was a 7-year-old boy, and I was shivering because [I was working with] a child actor, a 7-year-old boy [who] never had experience acting. I said, "Wow, I'm gonna die." (Laughs.) [But] I was wrong," she quipped.

Just like Yeun, the child star scored major nominations and even won Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Young Performer.

Furthermore, he made it to the headlines after giving the cutest and most emotional acceptance speech ever.

He broke down after calling his name and even pinched himself to check if it was a dream.

"Minari" follows the story of Korean immigrants who moved to an Arkansas farm in search of their own American dream. The family faced challenges but remain resilient despite the hardships abroad.
