Asia Artist Awards 2021 Receives Mixed Reactions for Having ‘Too Many’ Daesang Awards
Asia Artist Awards 2021 successfully wraped up as the ceremony named top artists from film, music and tv who have shown great contribution in the past year.
Kdrama stars Lee Jung Jae, Yoo Ah In and Lee Seung Gi bagged major awards, including the "Daesang," also known as the grand prize.
The same goes for BTS, Aespa, Lim Young Woong, Stray Kids, and NCT 127, who took home the grand prize and multiple awards.
For this year's ceremony, the organization had a total of 40 awards as compared to the Asia Artist Awards 2020 and 2019, with only 36 categories.
Following the annual event, netizens expressed their mixed reactions towards the recently held ceremony.

AAA 2021 was criticized for its excessive or high number of categories, especially the Daesang.
According to an outlet, some fans think that this year's event has "too many" grand prizes which "took the meaning away from the Daesang."
On December 2, AAA 2021 announced Yoo Ah In as the winner for Daesang - Film Actor of the Year.
It was followed by Lee Seung Gi who bagged Daesang - TV Actor of the Year for his show-stopping portrayal of Jung Ba Reum in the hit series "Mouse."
Lastly, Lee Jung Jae took home the grandiose trophy of Daesang - Actor of the Year for his role as player 456 Seung Gi Hoon in the record-breaking Kdrama "Squid Game" that gained huge attention worldwide.
To recall, previous Asia Artist Awards only had Daesang--one is for TV, and the other one is for the film.
Interestingly, Lee Jung Jae also won a grand prize award as Daesang - Film Actor of the Year for "Deliver Us From Evil."

As for music, they retained their six grand prize categories: Daesang - Song of the Year won by BT, Daesang - Trot of the Year awarded to Lim Young Woong and Aespa as Daesang - Stage of the Year.
The Daesang - Performance of the Year goes to Stray Kids, while NCT 127 took home Daesang - Album of the Year.
As for the Daesang - Singer of the Year, it was none other than SEVENTEEN, who also bagged AAA Fabulous Award and AAA Best Producer Award for SEVENTEEN's Woozi.

The star-studded annual event not only recognized the contribution of artists but also filled the night with glitz and glam, especially on the red carpet.
Singer AleXa dazzled with her colorful mini dress, showing off her legs.
Han So Hee also flaunted her long legs, but she opted for a contemporary and elegant approach by sporting an embellished navy blue long dress with high slit detail.
Jaws dropped when KINGDOM strutted the AAA 2021 red carpet with a black and white ensemble.
Interestingly, Song Ji Hyo, who was previously criticized for her hair transformation, wowed the crowd with her stunning pixie cut that perfectly suits her face.
