Netflix Presents Bae Doona and Gong Yoo’s Characters in the Upcoming Sci-Fi Series ‘The Silent Sea’
Netflix's "The Silent Sea" highlights the characters of Bae Doona and Gong Yoo as they transform into an elite space crew in the much-awaited sci-fi series.
In the latest teaser released by the streaming giant, the duo flaunts their synergy as they take on the role of astrobiologist Song Ji Ahn and space team leader Han Yoon Jae.
'The Silent Sea' Teaser Focuses on Bae Doona and Gong Yoo's Synergy as Elite Space Crew
The newest still cuts featured the preparation and the takeoff of the spacecraft, with Song Ji Ahn and Han Yoon Jae leading the team.
Before the anticipated journey to outer space, Netflix showed off Gong Yoo's image as an authoritarian leader flaunting his neck tattoo and his expressive eyes.
He is also known among his colleagues as the youngest space captain who has successfully led other explorations.
On the other hand, "The Silent Sea" teaser shows Song Ji Ahn's eager expression hinting that she is determined to return to Earth with a successful mission.
Interestingly, a series of teasers flaunts the duo wearing their whitespace suit as they gear up to launch their aircraft.
According to Netflix's Instagram caption, Bae Doona and Gong Yoo's characters started on the wrong foot but managed to put their differences aside for the team's survival on the moon.
"Ji Ahn, a person who wants to find the truth and Yoon Jae, who must complete the mission. Two people who were like parallel lines that can't meet are heading to the moon together," the caption reads.

What We Need to Know About Netflix's 'The Silent Sea'
Fans have been waiting for the release of the highly anticipated team-up between two A-listers together with a roster of talented actors.
Apathy from the duo, "The Silent Sea" cast members includes Lee Joon as the senior engineer Ryu Tae Seok and will be working alongside the head of security Gong Soo Hyuk, played by Lee Moo Saeng, and spacecraft pilot Kim Sun played portrayed by Lee Sung Wook.
The award-winning actress Kim Sun Young joins the crew as team doctor Hong Ga Young.
Set to premiere on December 23 exclusively on Netflix, the sci-fi series is helmed by Choi Hang Yong, who also directed and penned the movie "The Sea of Tranquility."
According to the South Korean A-lister Jung Woo Sung, who is also the executive producer of Gong Yoo and Bae Doona's Kdrama, "The Silent Sea" is based on the film "The Sea of Tranquility."
In one interview, he mentioned that he created it as an eight-part series because he wanted to focus on the group's journey to space.
It depicts the story of the country's elite space crew and their mission to retrieve samples from the abandoned lunar base.
