‘The Silent Sea’ Episode 7: Will Bae Doona, Gong Yoo and the Rest of the Team Survive the Mission to the Moon?
"The Silent Sea" episode 7 titled "Luna" is the pivotal part of the story as Bae Doona manages to secure the database that could be the answer to the Earth's grappling supply of water.
Unfortunately, the rest of the team, especially Gong Yoo, who portrays Captain Han Yun Jae, is devastated after his teammates were killed by the spy, Lieutenant Ryu Tae Suk, played by Lee Joon.
'The Silent Sea' Episode 7 Recap: Dr. Hong Delivers the Bad News + Another Death Hits Captain Han's Team
The sci-fi series began with Dr. Hong Ga Young discovering that their missing teammate, E2 was dead due to a gunshot and unfortunately, the samples were also missing.
Due to the information, Captain Han instructed Kim Hee Sun to locate Song Jian and Ryu Taesuk; however, he was shocked to see the lieutenant holding a gun while aiming at him.
"Is it you who killed them?" he asked to which he replied asking the update regarding Song Jian and Luna and if the girl is essential to the study.
Kim Hee Sun tried to fight and escape from the command center while threatening to toss the lunar water at him, but Ryu Taesuk fired at him and broke the capsule.
The lieutenant locked the crew member in the room as he emotionally watched him die.
Song Jian Successfully Finds the Database + The Origin of Luna
In "The Silent Sea," episode 7, Song Jian follows Luna to her room and upon inspecting her things, she finds a picture of her sister with her team and, surprisingly, the missing database.
Labeled the "Lunar Water Response Test" file, the astrobiologist saw her sister, Song Wonkyung, conduct tests on a goldfish and a human clone named "Luna 001."

The female subject immediately died due to drowning and brought a series of cloned subjects until "Luna 073" became a success.
Here, she felt disappointed over her sister's decision despite noting that it would save humanity. For one, the group violated that cloning is prohibited from any experiments.
On the other side of the station, Doc Hong was stunned to see a room full of bags with a dead cloned body labeled as Luna. It was also seen by Captain Han and realized that the previous mission conducted cloning.
Balhae Station Gets Submerge to Lunar Water
While Ryu Taesuk carried out his mission, he tried to activate the air purification systems; unfortunately, it won't work because the underground part of the station is now submerged in lunar water.
Meanwhile, Gong Yoo and Doc Hong learned about Kim See Hun's death, but they have to shrug it off and continue their mission-and that is to deactivate the gate closures.
Luna Leads Song Jian and Chief Gong Soo Hyuk at a Safe Place
In the latter part of "The Silent Sea" episode 7, Chief Gong Soo Hyuk located Luna and saw Song Jian with her.
Aiming the gun and ready to fire at the girl, the astrobiologist begs him to let go of Luna.
Seeing that they emptied the lunar water, he reported this to Captain Han and was instructed to escort the two since Ryu Tae Suk was on his way to hunt Jian and Luna.
Luckily, as soon as the lieutenant reached the area, Chief Gong, Song Jian and Luna escaped.
On the other hand, Han Yun Jae encountered Ryu Taesuk in the hallway leading to a fight between the two.
Although he had a chance to finish the lieutenant, he hesitated as he looked him in the eye. Ryu Taesuk got an opportunity to hit Captain Han and escape along with the samples.
As soon as he was about to shoot Han Yun Jae, lunar water dripped from the ceiling, hitting his face.
Meanwhile, Luna sensed that something was off at the station's underground and tried to lead Song Jian and Chief Gong Soo Hyuk to a safe place.
Fortunately, the astrobiologist got the signal and followed the girl.
Will the remaining astronaut successfully retrieve the sample and get out alive in the abandoned lunar station?
