‘Radio Star’ Viewership Rating Reaches New Heights After ‘The Red Sleeve Cuff’ Stars' Guest Appearance

Lee Junho, Lee Se Young and other "The Red Sleeve Cuff" stars made a special appearance in MBC's "Radio Star" last January 26. Due to the drama's continued popularity, the radio show's ratings broke new records after almost two years.

Nielsen Korea Reveals 'Radio Star's' New Viewership Rating Record

Three weeks after they bid farewell to each other and to the viewers, 2PM's Lee Junho, Lee Se Young, Kang Hoon, Jang Hye Jin, and Lee Min Ji reunited for the first time in a variety show. And because of their appearance, MBC's "Radio Show" ranked first in household ratings in the metropolitan area with an average rating of 8.6 percent. The latest highest rating that the program recorded was last April 8, 2020, when "Mister Trot" contestants appeared as guests.

 It was based on Nielsen Korea's newly released record. It has been said that it was a 2.6 percent increase from the previous week's broadcast, which was on January 19. The best minute was Oh Dae Hwan and Lee Junho's reunion in the show, which successfully attained a record 10.6 percent.

In addition, Kdrama couple Lee Se Young and Lee Junho also added the hype for the viewers to watch the show.

Lee Junho Admits of Being Nervous Having Kissing Scenes with Lee Se Young

The drama's cast shared their funny stories while filming "The Red Sleeve Cuff" and the changes they experienced due to the K-series popularity. Jang Hye Jin, Kang Hoon, and Lee Min Ji confessed that it was their first time to appear in a variety show. That's why they felt nervous yet overjoyed. Lee Se Young, on the other hand, felt nostalgic as it was her first time again after ten years to appear in an entertainment program. As per Lee Min Ji, she was new to the attention that she was getting after she appeared in the drama. Even her mother, who doesn't really watch dramas, allotted time to watch and support her.

Meanwhile, the iconic moment of Lee Se Young during the 2021 MBC Drama Awards was talked about during the segment. Lee Junho remembered Se Young's reaction and even imitated it which made the rest of the cast and host laugh. The actress then revealed that she forgot to mention Lee Junho in his speech, whom she was most thankful for since they had great teamwork, which led them to win the Best Couple Award.

Furthermore, Lee Junho revealed that when he was preparing for his kissing scene with Lee Se Young, he watched the actress' previous drama kissing scenes and got surprised by how she handled it professionally. On the day of their first kiss scene in "The Red Sleeve Cuff," the idol-actor got really nervous about doing it but eventually finished it perfectly.

Meanwhile, there will be another "Radio Show" episode with "The Red Sleeve Cuff" cast, which is scheduled to air next week.
