IU ‘Excited’ for Her First-Ever Appearance at Cannes Film Festival
IU reveals her true feelings after her movie "Broker" was invited to the Cannes Film Festival 2022.
The Koreeda Hirokazu-directed film is slated to compete at the 75th Cannes Film Festival, which will take place from May 17 to 28.
In addition, the upcoming movie will also air at the ceremony alongside another Korean film, "Decision To Leave," helmed by "The Handmaiden" director Park Hae Il.
In the forthcoming movie, the singer-actress is joined by a star-studded cast, including Song Kang Ho from "Parasite," Kang Dong Won, and award-winning actress Bae Doona.
IU 'Grateful' to Become Part of 'Broker'
"Broker," one of the highly anticipated movies set to be released this year, is IU's comeback to the big screen after starring in the film "Shades of the Heart" with Yoon Hye Ri and "Thirty-Nine" actor Yeon Woo Jin.

It depicts a story of brokers and detectives who get involved with baby boxes which provides hope for these newborns to find a new family.
For her upcoming film, the 28-year-old star showed her versatility as an actress after portraying So Young, a young mother who left her child in the baby box.
As cited by Dispatch, the singer-actress gets candid, sharing what it feels like to attend a prestigious ceremony.
IU mentioned that she is "grateful" to be one of the lead stars of "Broker." She learned a lot while filming the movie last Spring of 2021.

Moreover, the singer-actress also pointed out being given the opportunity to attend the 75th Cannes Film Festival.
The "Hotel Del Luna" star mentioned that she is "excited and looking forward" joining the annual ceremony.
While IU dishes out her thoughts regarding the movie's entry at Cannes Film Festival 2022, director Koreeda Hirokazu was also grateful for the attention that the global audience is giving for films like "Broker."
As cited by an outlet, the Japanese director expressed his gratitude that his work "has been highly evaluated."
In addition, he also states that the invitation to the prestigious ceremony is a reward not just for him but also for the staff and crew.
Aside from nomination and broadcast at the 75th Cannes Film Festival, "Broker" will officially premiere in June 2022.

After the hit K-drama "Hotel Del Luna," the singer-actress is making a comeback to the small screen with the new webtoon-based series "Money Game" together with Ryu Jun Yeol.
In addition, she recently wrapped up filming the movie "Dream" with Park Seo Joon in Budapest.
