K-Drama Stars Who Once Thought About Getting Plastic Surgery [Updated 2023]

Lee Seung Gi, Park Shin Hye, and more stars have opened up about their thoughts regarding plastic surgery.

Due to the global phenomenon brought by the Hallyu craze, Koreans strive for picture-perfect beauty and seek help through products and diet, while some resort to beauty enhancements. These procedures make one look and feel good about themselves by boosting their confidence. 

While some Hallyu stars denied going under the knife, these stars candidly spoke about getting plastic surgery, but never dared to do it. 

Here's why Park Shin Hye, Lee Seung Gi, and Ha Ga In once thought about it but changed their minds because of these reasons. 

Park Shin Hye

OG K-drama fans witnessed how Park Shin Hye grew up right before our eyes. 

From being a child star to a sought-after actress and now a soon-to-be mom, "The Heirs" star's beauty never fades throughout the years. 

However, she revealed that she did think about enhancing her face and getting a nose job. In 2015, the "Sisyphus: The Myth" star got candid about surgeries and beauty enhancement. 

As obtained by a media outlet, she is not against going under the knife but insists on keeping her natural beauty regardless of its flaws. 

"I don't think badly of or oppose having plastic surgery. I once seriously thought of it, but I decided to take my appearance as it is."

As the discussion about surgery continued, the actress then revealed her insecurities, particularly about her nose. She added:

"My face is not perfect. Because my nose is not sharp, many people suggested I should get my nose done."

At the time, she was seriously considering getting it enhanced but realized that it makes her appearance unique, adding, "and nobody is perfect."

Despite not getting her nose done, Park Shin Hye graces tons of magazine covers and represents high-end brands as their muse. 

Lee Seung Gi

The award-winning actor has been vocal about the highlights in his life. It includes the time when he almost considered getting a nose job. 

In one of the episodes of SBS' show "Circle House," the "Mouse" star revealed that he once considered having it fixed. As noted by SBS news, Lee Seung Gi thought that getting his features more defined would make him a better actor. 

For him, he thinks that his nose "looked so weird for some reason" and decides to seek an opinion from an expert. 

"I consulted the doctor and set a date for my surgery. I even put a deposit down. I couldn't let my agency staff know about it, though."

Interestingly, after the consultation, he ended up changing his mind and shared:

"I thought about the pros and cons, and came to the conclusion that it was best not to get a nose job." 

Despite not going under the knife, Lee Seung Gi is considered K-drama's most versatile actor, raking tons of nominations and awards in various ceremonies. 

Han Ga In

In the same show, Han Ga In also mentioned that she thought about getting plastic surgery. The "Moon Embracing Sun" star shared that her insecurity was her weight, which can be seen through her face. 

The actress wanted to add fat to her face to look more youthful, adding:

"I don't have much fat on my face, so I want to gain some. I want to change my face a little bit if I can."

The reason that Han Ga In didn't pursue her decision to go under the knife was her husband, she said:

"I asked my husband if I should have surgery for once, but he objected to it, saying he would never let it happen."
