'Tomorrow' Episode 14 Recap: Choi Joon Woong's Curiosity Led Him to See Goo Ryeon's Past
The MBC weekend series began with Goo Ryeon (Kim Hee Sun) trying not to recall her past; however, Choi Joon Wong (Rowoon) wants to be by her side as she tries to get herself drunk but Go Ryeon insists that she wants to be alone.
Curious about her past, the rookie grim reaper asked for help from Jumadeung's director Emperor Jade (Kim Hae Sook). She revealed about Goo Ryeon's heartbreaking past and her connection with Park Joong Gil (Lee Soo Hyuk).
Goo Ryeon and Park Joong Gil's Childhood
As seen in the earlier episodes, the two grim reapers have known each other since they were young; however, their friendship started on a wrong foot.
Park Joong Gil was a nobleman's son, making him above the commoners. This attitude of Joong Gil changed when she met Goo Ryeon, who sympathizes with commoners because she was once saved by one of them and is repaying their kindness by protecting them.

Years later, they became close friends and were bound to be in an arranged marriage. It was a deal between their parents before they were even born.
Goo Ryeon and Park Joong Gil's Marriage
Years later, the two officially became husband and wife. Throughout the years, her court lady stayed with her.
Park Joong Gil became the Chief of Defense, but a harrowing incident changed their lives.
Goo Ryeon, alongside her court lady and thousands of women, were taken by the barbarians.
Fortunately, they managed to stay alive and return to their homes. However, things turned upside down as the survivors were looked down on by people thinking that they served as prostitutes in order to survive.
Despite rumors not being true, Goo Ryeon and her court lady tried to live a normal life while Park Joon Gil was there to protect them.
In one episode of "Tomorrow" episode 14, Goo Ryeon hit her rock bottom. It came after her loyal court lady died after being beaten while protecting her from the people.
Goo Ryeon tried to commit suicide but was stopped by Park Joong Gil.
However, despite trying to fight her emotions, Goo Ryeon died by taking her own life and left Park Joong Gil grieving.
While Park Joong Gil, being a grim reaper, couldn't remember his past, he had been vocal about how he hates people ending their life, and Goo Ryeon might be the reason for it.
