Kim Seon Ho is gearing up for his theatrical stage comeback through "Touching the Void."
The actor's agency, SALT Entertainment updates fans with a sneak peek of his upcoming play as he plays mountaineer Joe Simpson.
Kim Seon Ho Flaunts Climbing Skills in 'Touching the Void'
As shared on Kim Seon Ho Staff Diary Instagram, the account showcases the actor's climbing skills. As mentioned in the caption, the South Korean heartthrob had his first day of climbing training in preparation for his upcoming stage play, "Touching the Void."
Based on the photos, Kim Seon Ho immersed himself in the role as he tries indoor climbing. He did it using his bare hands showing his upper body strength.
Previously, SALT Entertainment showed a glimpse of his rehearsal wearing a mountaineering outfit as he read the script.
The upcoming play is based on a real-life experience of British mountain climbers Joe Simpson and Simon Yates as they survive a terrifying escapade back in 1985 in Siula Grande in the Peruvian Andes.
In "Touching the Void," Kim Seon Ho plays Joe Simpson, a mountaineer who was struck on a snowy mountain after encountering a frightening incident during their climbing trip.
The forthcoming theater play will premiere on July 8 at Art One Theater 2 in Daehangno. With this, fans may book their tickets through Interpark Ticket's Theater Competition Home Page.
Joining the actor are Shin Sung Min, Lee Hwi Jong, Oh Jung Taek, and Jung Hwan, and will be helmed by Kim Dong Yeon.
Kim Seon Ho's stage play return is among his upcoming activities after he made a comeback following his seven-month hiatus. It came after the actor encountered a devastating controversy that almost ended his career.
Through his official social media, the actor shared his feelings and apologized to everyone who had "a difficult time" due to his shortcomings.

On Kim Seon Ho's Instagram, he expressed his gratitude to fans, especially those who greeted him on his special day.
"Thank you for congratulating me on my birthday this year too. I will cherish the feelings you give me and become an actor who can repay the support," he said.
Since then, the 36-year-old star has been preparing his activities for his comeback, starting with his big-screen debut "Sad Tropicals."
The South Korean heartthrob left for Thailand in March to film the movie and returned to Korea a month later.
Kim Seon Ho's New Movie
In his upcoming film, Kim Seon Ho plays the lead star alongside Go Ah Ra, Kim Kang Woo, and rookie actor Kang Tae Joo.
"Sad Tropical" follows the story of a young man who is born to a Korean father and a Filipino mother. Aside from his lifelong dream to become a professional boxer, he wants to meet his father who abandoned them. With this, he returns to his homeland but ends up meeting bad guys.
