Hyun Bin’s ‘Confidential Assignment 2’ Among the 2022 Top 3 K-Movies After Scoring THIS at the Box Office
Hyun Bin's comeback movie "Confidential Assignment 2" is continuing the hype as the much-awaited sequel scored a new achievement at the Korean Box office.
Through the production company's official Instagram account, the actors celebrated after hitting a new milestone.
'Confidential Assignment 2' Surpasses 5 Million Viewers
In an Instagram post by CJ ENM, the company announced that the action comedy movie has surpassed its 5 million viewers at the Korean box office.
Posing candidly, "Confidential Assignment 2" cast members Girls' Generation's YoonA, Hyun Bin, Daniel Henney, Yoo Hae Jin, Jin Seon Kyu, and director Lee Seok Hoon posed as they hit another record-breaking achievement.
Interestingly, a report cited by a local news portal that the movie's sequel is the third Korean movie to hit 5 million moviegoers and next to the 2022 box office films like Son Seok Koo and Ma Dong Seok's "The Roundup" and "Hansan: Rising Dragon."
Released on September 7, Hyun Bin's "Confidential Assignment 2" has received good reviews from critics and viewers, showing a high level of satisfaction with the cast lineup, plot, and overall performance.
With the film's new success, it is predicted that Hyun Bin's comeback movie will continue the unwavering box office boom till the third week since its release.
Why is Hyun Bin's Movie 'Confidential Assignment 2' Worth the Hype?
Helmed by Lee Seok Hoon of "The Pirates" and "The Himalayas," "Confidential Assignment 2" follows the reunion of two detectives who are set on a new mission alongside their new partner.
Hyun Bin reprised his role as North Korean detective Im Chul Ryung who returns to Seoul to once again team up with South Korean detective Kang Jin Tae, played by Yoo Hae Jin.
As the duo set out on their new mission, they will have to work alongside the dashing FBI agent, Jack, played by Daniel Henney.
Apart from the new mission, "Confidential Assignment 2" introduces its new villain through Jin Seon Kyu as he plays the syndicate leader Jang Myeong Jun.
From new partner, and villain, the sequel also highlights the love triangle between Girls' Generation YoonA's role, Park Min Young who is the sister-in-law of Yoo Hae Jin.

Hyun Bin on His Return as North Korean Detective Im Chul Ryung
During his previous interview ahead of the film's premiere, Hyun Bin talks about playing a North Korean detective and the difference between portraying it in "Confidential Assignment 2" and in "Crash Landing on You."
According to an outlet, he explained that his North Korean role in "Confidential Assignment 2" is "slightly different from 'Crash Landing on You.'"
Moreover, he also mentioned that he doesn't know how he ended up in "consecutive roles using North Korean dialect" adding that he finds it "interesting."
It can be recalled that Hyun Bin played the role of an elite North Korean soldier in "Crash Landing on You" where he meets the South Korean heiress Yoon Seri (Son Ye Jin) after she landed on the Korean borders.
