'Alchemy of Souls' Stirs Buzz Over Cast Changes Rumors
The highly anticipated return of "Alchemy of Souls" stirs quite the buzz as viewers' curiosity over the cast lineup intensifies.
"Alchemy of Souls" follows the stories of mages from the magical land of Daeho who work together to protect its people from soul shifters, monsters who feed off human's energy.
The first part of the drama consisted of 20 episodes and aired from June to August 2022. It was headlined by lead actors Jung So Min, Lee Jae Wook, Hwang Minhyun and more.
After the conclusion of the drama, the production unit introduced the second part of the series, confirming the addition of Go Yoon Jung to the main cast lineup.
However, this enraged fans especially when Jung So Min announced that she won't appear in the second part of the drama as she only signed to star in the first half.
On September 29, rumors regarding Yoo In Soo and Oh My Girl Arin's characters' sudden demise stirred another ruckus in the global entertainment scene.

The two stars are originally a part of the main cast ensemble. Since they finished filming very early, it was speculated that their characters will meet a premature death in the second part.
It is believed that "Alchemy of Souls" Part 2 will introduce new characters with the absence of the original cast.
However, there's no definite answer to every question yet. The production unit of the drama also refuses to give their statements as it could potentially ruin the flow of the story.
Will Jung So Min Join 'Alchemy of Souls' Part 2?
Jung So Min once again proved her skills and unstoppable charisma as she played Mu Deok, the Lost Princess of the Jin clan in "Alchemy of Souls" Part 1.

However, fans are in deep regret as the actres will not join the main cast ensemble along with Lee Jae Wook, Hwang Minhyun and Shin Seung Ho as rising actress Go Yoon Jung assumes the lead position.
Jung So Min will join the cast as a supporting role as her character arc is still essential to the story. The actress stated through her agency, Blossom Entertainment, that she doesn't have any regrets in the show.
