While the renowned South Korean star reaps the success of his hard work in the international scene, Lee Jung Jae is reportedly offered a billion won appearance fee in the upcoming "Squid Game 2."

The award-winning actor is the frontrunner of Netflix's series who took the world by storm and bagged major recognition both local and international.

Now, after the series gets the green light Lee Jung Jae's talent fee for the forthcoming sequel is worth 1 billion won or 700,000 USD per episode.

Is it True? Lee Jung Jae's 'Squid Game 2' Appearance Fee Per Episode Costs 1 Billion Won

In a report cited by Xports News, a Netflix official briefly addressed the rumors regarding Lee Jung Jae's fee per episode.

Since "Squid Game 2" is still in the process of being written, Netflix and the production company are undecided regarding the appearance fee of the cast members, including the lead star.

In addition, Cyron Pictures, the producer of the much-awaited sequel, expressed that there is no decision yet and has not been negotiating the appearance fees.

Prior to the massive success of the Netflix series, Lee Jung Jae was reportedly paid 300 million won per episode for his appearance in "Squid Game." It only means that the renowned actor received around 2.7 billion won for the nine-part episode K-drama.

With this, the 49-year-old star made it as one of the highest-paid Korean celebrities, beating Song Joong Ki who reportedly got a whopping 180 million won per episode of the smash hit K-drama "Vincenzo."

Interestingly, in a report cited by a media outlet, Lee Jung Jae is the second highest-paid K-drama actor, next to "It's Okay Not to Be Okay" star Kim Soo Hyun, who has been the highest-paid Korean actor for years.

Lee Jung Jae's Character to Seek Revenge in 'Squid Game 2'

In an interview cited by Deadline, "Squid Game" creator and director Hwang Dong Hyuk spills more tea regarding the highly anticipated sequel.

The award-winning director teased fans and said that viewers will get to see Seong Gi Hoon, played by Lee Jung Jae, to seek his revenge.

Moreover, it will be one of the biggest changes, as well as Gi Hoon's return will illustrate a different and more serious character.

It can be recalled that Seong Gi Hoon didn't do anything with the whopping cash prize but instead he depicted a whole new image, dyeing his hair vibrant red, hinting that he is a different man after winning the game.

Apart from Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, who plays the Frontman will reprise his role while director Hwang Dong Hyuk also teased viewers about Gong Yoo's comeback.
