Namgoong Min's 'One Dollar Lawyer' Wraps Up With 12 Episodes

Fans couldn't hide their disappointment as the international hit series "One Dollar Lawyer" starring Namgoong Min and Kim Ji Eun announces its premature ending.

"One Dollar Lawyer" follows the story of a lawyer who has the best strategies in winning cases but only charges one dollar as his attorney fee.

Since its premiere, the drama has received positive feedback from fans around the world and has enjoyed double digit ratings from the get-go.

In particular, Namgoong Min, who plays the role of the main character Cheon Ji Hoon, receives high praises for his outstanding acting chops. The actor proves his versatility and his ability to create a new "amazing character" in his career through the new work.

In the midst of this, the production unit of the series announced that "One Dollar Lawyer" was downgraded to 12 episodes from 14 episodes.

This earned mixed reactions from viewers, especially those who have tuned in to the series since the premiere.

'One Dollar Lawyer' Production Unit Refuses To Confirm Speculations

Despite the fans' constant queries, the production unit didn't confirm nor deny any speculations regarding Namgoong Min's "One Dollar Lawyer."

The crew of the series only stated that "One Dollar Lawyer" was downgraded to 12 episodes because the character arc of the main character has already ended, and there is no story to tell anymore.

"The first half of broadcast of the series concluded with Cheon Ji Hoon's story," a representative from the crew said. "The second half has begun by showing the character's story as a highly loved lawyer."

On the other hand, the drama is scheduled to conclude on November 6 as the broadcast on October 28 will be postponed to give way to the Professional Baseball Postseason.

Catch "One Dollar Lawyer" every Friday and Saturday at 10:00 p.m. KST on SBS.
