Lee Jung Jae's rumored upcoming project "The Acolyte" under the "Star Wars" series has officially begun its production. 

According to foreign media outlets, the filming of the soon-to-be-released Lucasfilm's spin-off is currently being shot in London.

"Star Wars: The Acolyte" is filmed at the Shinfield Studios in the United Kingdom where it featured a large outdoor set. 

Moreover, lead star Amandla Stenberg reportedly began her stint in the upcoming spinoff. 

Interestingly, the upcoming series is expected to continue until May 2023. 

As for Lee Jung Jae, reports noted that the South Korean star is planning to join the production soon.

Following back-to-back projects and being recognized worldwide through his amazing performance in Netflix's "Squid Game," Lee Jung Jae joins Hallyu stars who will have their Hollywood debut in the coming year. 

From Park Seo Joon's "The Marvel" to Jung Ho Yeon, the award-winning actor joins Lucasfilm's spin-off for "Star Wars."

For the upcoming series "The Acolyte" it is a mystery-thriller that focuses on the secrets of the galaxy as well as emerging dark-side powers in the High Republic era.

With this, stars playing the main character include "The Hunger Games" alum Amandla Stenberg, Jodie Turner-Smith, Jodie Turner-Smith, Manny Jacinto, Charlie Barnett, and Lee Jung Jae. 

"Star Wars: The Acolyte" will be executive produced and penned by Leslye Headland, co-creator of "Russian Doll" and will be under Disney+.

However during his appearance at the London East Asia Film Festival in 2022 for his movie "Hunt," the actor hints at his lineup projects but fails to mention the specifics. 

As obtained by an outlet, Lee Jung Jae said in an interview that he is preparing for filming every day. 

Unfortunately, he couldn't detail the upcoming project since he signed an NDA or non-disclosure agreement. 

"There will be an announcement soon," he said, adding that he is starting to film in the U.K and might take time to return to South Korea. 

Interestingly, apart from Lee Jung Jae's "Star Wars" project, Lucasfilm is also developing a series under "Star Wars" which includes "The Mandalorian Season 3" and more.

From Lee Jung Jae's Hollywood Debut to Returning to 'Squid Game 2'

Following the success of Netflix's "Squid Game," Lee Jung Jae had a fruitful 2022 after his directorial debut for "Hunt" earned praise both locally and globally. 

Interestingly, viewers will get to see Lee Jung Jae's iconic character in "Squid Game 2" officially get a green light. 

Creator and director Hwang Dong Hyuk previously confirmed that the top star will reprise his role as Seong Gi Hoon. The same goes for co-star Lee Byung Hun who appeared as The Frontman. 

On the other hand, the director also hints that Gong Yoo's mysterious role might also join the sequel.
