Lee Seung Gi’s Fan Union Expresses Anger Towards Hook Entertainment’s Slavery Contract

The feud between Lee Seung Gi and long-time agency Hook Entertainment continues as expressed their stance on the singer-actor's "slavery contract."

After the Hallyu star's representative released a statement regarding the unpaid music profits from the label, the fan union known as Airen, showed their full support for the "Vagabond" star.

In an official statement posted on the group's Instagram, the fan union pointed out that "Airen condemns Hook Entertainment and CEO Kwon Jin Young, and fully supports Lee Seung Gi."

In a statement, they stressed that the situation was "extremely unfair" for Lee Seung Gi's part given that the triple threat had a "successful singing career."

However, Hook Entertainment "paid Lee Seung Gi 0 won for music revenue, and the request made by Lee Seung Gi last year to verify the music settlement details was ignored."

As the fan group's official statement continues, Airen voiced how furious they are for gaslighting the singer-actor by "planting a sense of self-blame for 20 years through psychological domination and oppressive behavior."

With this, the fan union has requested Hook Entertainment to terminate their exclusive contract with Lee Seung Gi "due to violation of the agency's obligations, compliance with business ethics as an entertainment management company, and cessation of threats and slander."

Airen concluded the statement by expressing that they will do their best to support and protect Lee Seung Gi from CEO Kwon Jin Young and Hook Entertainment "who have habitually committed human rights abuses."

The statement from the fan union comes after the actor's legal team responded to ongoing reports about the Hallyu star's music profits over the past 18 years.

Released on November 24, Lee Seung Gi's representative, the team mentioned their request regarding the profit breakdown which includes the celebrity's distribution of all his albums; however, "the amount he has not been paid for his music."

Moreover, the statement also cited that the talent agency "did not bring up anything regarding payment for music in the slightest" and that the singer-actor "was not even aware of generating profits from music" and was recently became aware after a "message accidentally sent by an employee."

"Afterwards, Lee Seung Gi requested settlement details numerous times, but Hook Entertainment gave excuses that were lies such as, "You are a minus singer (meaning negative profit margin)," and avoided providing details," the statement reads, as obtained by a media outlet.

In addition, the representative also pointed out the insults and "threatening remarks" from the label's officials.

With this, Lee Seung Gi's camp has plans to "carry out a close examination of various legal relationships between Hook Entertainment including CEO Kwon Jin Young and Lee Seung Gi" and to transparently reveal details of his sales from music.

As mentioned, Lee Seung Gi has been with Hook Entertainment for 18 years. In addition, the agency is also a home for Hallyu stars like Park Min Young, Lee Seon Jin, Youn Yuh Jung, and more.
