"The Heirs" shot past 20 percent this week as Lee Min Ho's character disintegrated into broken mess of self-pity. After finding Park Shin Hye in the town to which she banished herself, he decided that he had ruined her life and it would be the noble thing for him to bow out of it once and for all.

Whether or not he will manage to fix her life, his own has taken a turn for the worst. His brief episode of standing up to his father and brother has ended and now the only person he seems intent on punishing is himself. Meanwhile Kim Woo Bin's increasingly sympathetic character tracks down Park Shin Hye and comforts her. By now even the most indifferent viewer has warmed to this tough but secretly sensitive guy. Their lives may be a mess but the drama's ratings reached 21.4 percent. That's a jump up of 0.3 percent.

Meanwhile, "Medical Top Team" rose to second place for the first time in its run but that may not be that much of a compliment. Viewers may only like it marginally more than "Pretty Man." Medical Top Team reached 5.4 percent in the ratings, while "Pretty Man" only reached 5.2 percent. It's not much of a difference. "Pretty Man" rose from 4.3 percent, while "Medical Top Team" increased from 5.1 percent.

Despite leading man Kwon Sang Woo, who earlier this year, had a role in the hit drama "Queen of Ambition," "Medical Top Team" did not manage to capture viewers' hearts. Viewers complained that there were too many in-hospital scenes and that the drama focused more on illnesses rather than personal stories. The drama did suffer from comparison to Joo Won's previous medical hit "Good Doctor" and competition with the highly anticipated drama "The Heirs." The drama stars Jung Ryeo Won, Ju Ji Hoon and SHINee's Choi Minho.

"Pretty Man" also had Jang Geun Suk fans anticipating his return to the small screen but the storyline has not been a hit so far.  Some netizens credited the poor ratings with the casting, saying that Jang Geun Suk barely reached 5 percent of the ratings in previous dramas such s "Love Rain" and "Mary Stayed Out All Night." Han Chae Young's last drama "Ad Genius Lee Tae Baek" only received 3 percent.

Another netizen commented that the problem is not with Jang Geun Suk's acting but rather his choice of roles.

"He always picks the same characters," said one netizen.
