In a news cited by Daum on December 1, Japanese fans' support toward Hyun Bin has changed considerably and is drawing attention. Although it is not been openly talked about in public before, according to the report, it is said that there has been a cold atmosphere since Hyun Bin is confirmed to play the role of Ahn Jung Geun in his forthcoming film "Harbin."

An official from a mid-sized agency said on December 1 that Hyun Bin's popularity soared with the series "Crash Landing on You," which set a new record in Japan.

However, an unexpected change has been detected a month or two ago.

Hyun Bin's Popularity Decreases Gradually in Japan

It was confirmed that Japanese event companies, who tried to competitively attract Hyun Bin's fan meetings, recently changed. It has been said that the demand for renting concert halls and pre-sale of tickets for Hyun Bin is not the same as before.

Another representative, who organized Kim Nam Gil and Cha Seung Won's Japanese fan meetings, revealed that last October, he offered Hyun Bin's agency (Vast Entertainment) a project with a budget of 1 billion won, which already includes a fan meeting and a publishing of photobook. The official has been waiting yet for the agency's response.

However, he was suddenly asked by the Japanese agencies to look for another actor for the event project.

'Harbin' Begins Production, Aims To Premiere the Film in Second Half of 2023

Meanwhile, Hyun Bin already started filming for his new movie "Harbin." The action film tells the story of An Jung Geun's assassination of Ito Hirobumi, the mastermind of the invasion of Joseon in 1909 at the Harbin Station.

Besides Hyun Bin, Park Jung Min, Jo Woo Jin, Jeon Yeo Bin, Yoo Jae Myung, Park Hoon, and Lee Dong Wook are also participating in the movie.

The production aims to release the film in the second half of 2023.

The filming location set to occur in South Korea, Latvia, and Mongolia. However, according to media reports, he immediately returned to Korea after his wife, Son Ye Jin, gave birth to their first baby on November 27.
