In episode 12 of the first part of "The First Responders," viewers are on a rollercoaster ride as two of the most complicated frontliners join hands together to solve a case.

'The First Responders' Episode 12: Jin Ho Gae Resigns As Police Officer

The final episode of "The First Responders" begins with a tragic death as Ma Tae Hwa's (Lee Do Yeop) father meets his sudden demise, which delays his sentence.

During the funeral, many unknown faces appear. However, Jin Ho Gae (Kim Rae Won) becomes the most controversial guest.

He surprises everyone when Jin Ho Gae reveals that he has resigned from his post as a detective.

A Glimpse of Bong Do Jin's Painful Past

Meanwhile, the fire department busy themselves as they try to put out a fire and save the victims inside a huge building.

The day taxes the firemen out as another fire after another occurs, causing Bong Do Jin (Son Ho Jun) to be suspicious. All the fires occurred within a three hour interval.

Together with the police, they begin to thoroughly investigate what had happened. When they find no evidence, Bong Do Jin grows frustrated.

It turns out that he had caused a fire before, which traumatized him. Since then, he vowed to himself that he will become a reputable fireman to save people.

After learning that Jin Ho Gae's resignation was not accepted, Bong Do Jin asks him for help. The two then hold their own investigation as no one believes their suspicions.

Jin Ho Gae and Bong Do Jin's Impending Demise

Elsewhere, another fire takes place, alarming both the fire and police departments. Jin Ho Gae and Bong Do Jin rush to put out the fire, only to be stuck inside the building.

At the end of the episode, the two go into panic as their co-workers are unable to find them.

Part 1 of "The First Responders" was a jam-packed work, curated with the right amount of suspense, excitement and romance.

Kim Rae Won, Son Ho Jun and Gong Seung Yeon's chemistry as co-workers also captivated the viewers' attention, especially their dynamics and differences.

As always, the trip delivered a fantastic performance, which leaves the viewers clamoring for its much awaited second installment.
