The Military Service Investigation Division of the Military Manpower Administration received a complaint involving the controversial actor Yoo Ah In.

The award-winning star, who is currently being investigated due to an allege habitual use of propofol is facing an accusation of receiving military service privileges.

Will Yoo Ah In's Military Exemption Get Reinvestigated?

According to a media outlet, a complainant filed a report to authorities asking to reinvestigate the actor's exemption in the military.

The person wanted the Military Manpower Administration too look into Yoo Ah In's military service judgment if it was enforced with proper procedures.

As cited by the outlet, the complainant raised speculation regarding the actor's military exemption following the arrest of a military service broker named Mr. Koo, in December 2022.

"The prosecution detected the possibility of involvement of employees inside the Military Manpower Administration," the report reads.

With this, the complainant brought up Yoo Ah In's military exemption, after suspicion of military service privileges was brought to light.

As for the actor, the complaint says that the agency of the "Chicago Typewriter" star "expanded the controversy with an irresponsible attitude" for not revealing the accurate reason behind the exemption.

"The news of Military Manpower Administration's involvement in military service corruption has caused great distrust," the complaint says, adding that the person is requesting for reinvestigation of Yoo Ah In's military service exemption.

The news comes after the "Seoul Vibe" star is currently going under investigation after suspicion of habitual use of propofol, an anesthetic used for procedural sedation and would make a person relax before and during surgery. This is also a reason why the said drug is being used only in a hospital setting.

However, amid the ongoing probe, Yoo Ah In tested positive for marijuana after the result of his urine test has been released.

As for the hair test, which will determine if he has been using propofol, is yet to be released by the authorities.

Yoo Ah In's Health Issues Led to His Military Exemption

In 2017, a media outlet released an exclusive report about Yoo Ah In's health stating that he is diagnosed with a bone tumor.

His agency then confirmed the diagnosis, adding that the tumor is benign.

Yoo Ah In's health issues also affected his military enlistment. Apart from the tumor, the award-winning star also injured his shoulder during the production of his film "Tough As Iron," and got worsened after filming "Veteran" with Hwang Jung Min.

At the time, some doubted his health issues and claimed that he is evading his enlistment.

However, in the same year, reports say authorities released the final verdict, noting that the actor was deemed unfit to be an active-duty soldier mainly because of his bone tumor.
