Amid Yoo Ah In's drug scandal, a rumor sparked that he is faking his pain to receive propofol.

The prolific actor is in the middle of a controversy after he underwent an investigation due to habitual use of the illegal substance. Due to this, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency summoned Yoo Ah In for suspicion of violating the Narcotics Control Act.

As the investigation continues, he is barred from leaving the country and did a series of tests including urine and hair strand evaluation to confirm whether he is using illegal substances.

Results then came in citing that the actor tested positive for four substance. Yoo Ah In's agency, United Artists Agency (UAA), briefly spoke about the reason why the "Seoul Vibe" star consumes illegal substances.

According to a media outlet, a representative explained that the award-winning top star is suffering from health issues.

"Yoo Ah In suffers from a skin disease," the agency revealed, adding that he also has a "phobia of needles" known as trypanophobia.

Moreover, his reps said that he "only requested sleep anesthesia during treatment." Unfortunately, authorities are suspicious of the actor's intention.

In the same outlet, authorities are accusing the actor of faking his pain to receive treatment, particularly with sedative substances.

Police Think Yoo Ah In 'Exaggerated' Pain to Get Propofol

As noted by MBC, police think that "Yoo Ah In is exaggerated the pain of a simple procedure and asked for sedatives and received propofol."

Moreover, the dermatology department, which the "Chicago Typewriter" star visited for his treatment in 2021, confirmed that he underwent treatment but "he only went to sleep during the painful procedure."

With this, the director of the dermatology hospital reportedly sent the actor messages along with caution regarding the use of the sedative drug. It includes phrases, such as, "You shouldn't use too much sleep anesthesia," and, "You shouldn't move from one hospital to another."

Based on the results, Yoo Ah In tested positive in marijuana for his urine test, while the results also conclude that he is positive for propofol, ketamine, and cocaine.

Furthermore, the investigation also states that he has been using propofol since 2021 and reportedly took 4400 ml, with the number of times reaching a total of 73, and has administered three times the required dosage.

Celebrities Linked to Propofol Use

While Yoo Ah In is making headlines for his drug-related issue, there are a handful of celebrities who also faced the same fate as the award-winning star.

"Narco Saints" star Ha Jung Woo was indicted by the Seoul Central District Court in 2021 for his illegal use of propofol.

Although he denied using it, the authorities found evidence that the actor had propofol several times, under his manager or brother's name.

In addition, Michael Jackson's death was also linked to propofol use after reports say that the "king of pop" died after his doctor, Conrad Murray gave him a large dose of propofol.
