Ji Chang Wook will soon be working as a free agent after the South Korean heartthrob parted ways with his long-time label, Glorious Entertainment.
Ji Chang Wook Decides Not to Renew his Contract With Glorious Entertainment
Since 2006, the "Sound of Magic" star worked with the agency. He headlined remarkable K-dramas like "Healer," "Empress Ki" and more while under the company.
TenAsia announced that Ji Chang Wook and Shin Hye Sun will both headline an upcoming JTBC series. Glorious Entertainment then confirmed the news saying that the actor has received the offer to play as lead.
The same goes for Shin Hye Sun's agency, which shared that the actress "has been offered the role of the female lead in the new JTBC drama." However, they added that "nothing has been decided yet."
"Welcome to Samdalri" is penned by "Hi Bye, Mama!" screenwriter Kwon Hye Joo and directed by Cha Young Hoon of "When the Camellia Blooms," "Uncontrollably Fond" and "Forecasting Love and Weather."
The story focuses on a hero with a dragon-like creature, ascending to heaven in a magnificent way.
If Ji Chang Wook officially accepts the offer, he will play the role of Cho Yong Pil, who works at the Meteorological Administration located in Mado but is often deemed as the troublemaker.
Meanwhile, Shin Hye Sun, who amazed viewers with her role in "Mr. Queen," will take on the character of Sam Dal, who is in search of the other half but failed to sustain a relationship.
Interestingly, Ji Chang Wook will also headline the upcoming series "The Worst of Evil" and will transform the respected police officer name Park Joon Mo.
In the soon-to-be-released K-drama, he will work alongside "Squid Game" actor Wi Ha Joon and Im Se Mi.
