In the competitive world of Hallyu, creating a name, especially as a rookie, doesn't happen overnight. However, redeeming one's career after flop works and declining performances is much more difficult.

Here are 4 K-drama stars who successfully salvaged their careers after an evident decline.

Song Hye Kyo

Known for her megahit dramas "Full House" and "Descendants of the Sun," Song Hye Kyo has the ability to transform into any given role with ease.

However, she wasn't able to maintain the momentum due to her chosen dramas, having reportedly poorly-written scripts like "Now, We Are Breaking Up," much to fans' disappointment.

Thankfully, she managed to reclaim her glory through her internationally-acclaimed revenge series "The Glory," boasting her spine-chilling acting and 100% synchro-rate.

Lim Ji Yeon

After her debut with the erotic film "Obsession," Lim Ji Yeon's popularity declined after viewers and critics stopped watching her works.

According to many, the actress only has a pretty face and an average acting prowess. Her dramas "Blow Breeze," "High Society," and "Rose Mansion" concluded without penetrating the international market.

However, the South Korean beauty proved that she's equipped with versatility and skills when she took on the role of a rebel mercenary in "Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area."

Lim Ji Yeon's popularity skyrocketed further when she became the main antagonist in Song Hye Kyo's revenge drama "The Glory," and even topped the global rankings for most buzzworthy stars.

Lee Min Ho

Lee Min Ho stole millions of hearts for his performance as a young and handsome heir in the romantic-comedy series "Boys Over Flowers."

He also has a long list of filmography, which includes "The Heirs," "The Legend of the Blue Sea," and more; this prove Lee Min Ho is no stranger in the acting scene.

However, the actor received flak for his repetitive dramas after being typecast as an actor who only does "pretty and rich heir" roles, raising questions about whether he could actually act.

Luckily, Lee Min Ho was able to revive his career with the multinational series "Pachinko," alongside Kim Min Ha, receiving nods from critics all around the world.

Ju Ji Hoon

Like Song Hye Kyo, Ju Ji Hoon is a household name in the Hallyu scene after he nailed his performance in the classic drama "Princess Hours."

However, his name was tainted due to his personal controversies regarding usage and dealing of illegal drugs. Viewers believed that it was the end of the actor's career.
