"QueenMaker" delivered a surprising ending as episodes 6 to 12 featured the much-awaited team-up of Kim Hee Ae and Moon So Ri's characters.

Focusing on womance (or the counterpart of bromance), the Netflix series illustrates the friendship between two strong female individuals.

"QueenMaker" showcased not just a unique friendship but also the dominance and reign of women in politics.

Helmed by Oh Jin Suk of 2017's "Sassy Girl" and penned by Moon Ji Young of "I Love Lee Tae Ri," the 11-episode K-drama featured Kim Hee Ae as Hwang Do Hee, the corporate strategy head of EunSung Group who works as the "fixer" of the company. She is responsible for restoring the image of the conglomerate amid the scandals and controversies surrounding the family.

Meanwhile, Moon So Ri took on the role of labor rights lawyer Oh Kyung Sook, running for mayoral race against EunSung Group's bet Baek Jae Min, played by Ryu Soo Young

'QueenMaker' Episodes 7 to 11 Recap

The second half of "QueenMaker" focused on Seoul's mayoral election. As the campaign period began, various parties started to dig in the dirt against their competitors.

Chairman Son introduced Carl Yoon as Baek Jae Min's campaign head, who would oversee the strategies for the team.

One of the first activities for the mayoral race was a debate between the candidates. However, Carl Yoon advised Jae Min not to participate in the debate, so it was up against two strong female candidates.

Oh Kyung Sook was up against Seo Min Jung, who was also favored by many to be the first female mayor of Seoul.

However, Oh Kyung Sook's side managed to raise speculation about her lavish lifestyle. Thanks to Hwang Do Hee's expertise, they gained the upper hand against their competitor.

However, Seo Min Jung got back by blackmailing a colleague of Oh Kyung Sook, who used the funds of the organization for her personal use.

Thankfully, Hwang Do Hee's ex-husband, who used to work as Seo Min Jung's campaign manager, exposed her plans in public and caused outrage, especially Kyung Sook.

Seo Min Jung withdrew her candidacy, and it was now between Oh Kyung Sook and Baek Jae Min. Through Carl Yoon and his sneaky ways, they managed to get the upper hand by spying on Hwang Do Hee's next move.

However, one of the biggest blows that affected Kyung Sook and her campaign was tainting the name of her son. Through fake news, he was seen as a bully and a sex offender.

Interestingly, Hwang Do Hee and the staff were able to trace that it was all planned by Baek Jae Min's team. This prompted Hwang Do Hee to expose Baek Jae Min as a womanizer and his involvement with the death of his former secretary, Han I Seul.

After creating such massive controversy, Hwang Do Hee found out that I Seul did not die by suicide, but was murdered by Jae Min. She also speculated that Guk Ji Yeon, the one who replaced Hwang Do Hee in the position, was a mistress and pregnant with Baek Ji Min's child.

To get rid of her and prevent the truth from being exposed, he planned a staged suicide, but thankfully, she was saved by Hwang Do Hee and the team.

At the press conference, a day before the election, Ms. Guk revealed the truth behind her affair with the candidate. She also shared that Baek Jae Min and his team planned to murder her to prevent the truth from being exposed to the public.

The downfall also led Chairman Son to get rid of her son-in-law and stage it as suicide.

On the other hand, Oh Kyung Sook was formally announced as Seoul's first ever female mayor, but Hwang Do Hee was imprisoned for accepting a 20 billion KRW bribe from Eunsing. She made herself a sacrificial lamb for the prosecutor to investigate Chairman Son's slush fund.

However, during her time in prison, Hwang Do Hee met a visitor who asked for her help.
