Park Seo Joon talks about his longtime friendship with Kang Ha Neul and how grateful he is that his celebrity-friend became a part of his new movie, "Dream."

The South Korean heartthrob is making his big screen comeback, four years after the success of the 2019 action-fantasy film "The Divine Fury."

Ahead of the premiere of "Dream," Park Seo Joon joined fellow lead star IU, along with co-stars Kim Jong Soo, Ko Chang Seok, Jeong Seung Gil, Yang Hyun Min, Hong WanPyo, Heo Jun Seok, and director Lee Byung Hun. 

Teasing viewers with what to expect in the sports-themed film, Park Seo Joon shared his thoughts about Kang Ha Neul's cameo in "Dream."

Park Seo Joon 'Thankful' For Kang Ha Neul's Special Appearance in 'Dream'

As obtained by a news outlet, Park Seo Joon spoke about his friendship with Kang Ha Neul, with whom he first worked in the hit movie "Midnight Runners."

At the "Dream" press conference, he revealed that it was his first time seeing his fellow actor since the 2017 movie aired.

"We played a lot together in that movie," he said, adding, "but I didn't know we would both appear in this movie," referring to the sports themed film.

According to the outlet, Kang Ha Neul received no pay for his special appearance in "Dream" as a show of support for his friends, including IU and director Lee Byung Hun.

Park Seo Joon shared that, besides him, the "When the Camellia Blooms" star is also friends with IU, with whom he worked in the historical K-drama "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" with Lee Joon Gi.

"I think he was willing to help because he had a relationship with everyone," he added.

The South Korean heartthrob also took the opportunity to thank Kang Ha Neul for supporting the movie "Dream."

Following the announcement regarding the filming of Park Seo Joon and IU's movie, officials announced that Kang ha Neul will be part of the upcoming film through a special appearance.

As seen on the trailer, he will be one of the competitor of Park Seo Joon's team, raising anticipation regarding the duo's chemistry.

'Dream' Release Date and Cast

After three years of filming due to the setback brought by the pandemic, finally, viewers will get a chance to see Park Seo Joon and IU on one screen as they headline the upcoming film "Dream."

Slated to premiere on April 26, it depicts the story of a once-famed soccer player named Yoon Hong Dae (Park Seo Joon), who is on hiatus due to disciplinary action.

In hopes of getting back on the field, he was offered to be the head coach of the rookie players for the annual international soccer event, the Homeless World Cup.

On the other hand, producing director Lee So Min (IU) was intrigued by the amateur team and wants to cover them for a documentary.

Besides the amazing cast lineup, "Dream" will also feature a heartwarming story about failure and hope.
