Kim So Yeon Reveals Truth Behind Emotional Speech After Winning Daesang at 2021 SBS Drama Awards
Kim So Yeon recalled the remarkable moment in her career when she took home the Daesang category at the 2021 SBS Drama Awards.
The award winning actress delivered an exceptional performance playing the role of primadonna Cheon Seo Jin in "The Penthouse: War in Life."
Due to the public's overwhelming response to the show, the SBS K-drama got extended to its third season.
On the other hand, "The Penthouse" continues to rake various recognitions including Kim So Yeon, winning the best grand prize.
What Was the Reason Behind Kim So Yeon's Emotional Acceptance Speech During the 2021 SBS Drama Awards?
During her appearance on tvN's "You Quiz on the Block," the actress recalled the time when she got up on stage and delivered her acceptance speech.
The actress shared that she was advised minutes before the announcement that she would receive a Daesang award.
Although she wanted to thank everyone and feared that she might forget someone as she delivered her speech, Kim So Yeon thought that she had to do it quickly since the ceremony was a live broadcast.

However, as the awrad winning actress practiced her lines, she burst into tears after a writer mentioned something to her.
"I shouldn't do it for too long. I was practicing because I wanted to practice my acceptance speech quickly without crying, but the writer suddenly came at that time," she recalled, as mentioned by a media outlet, adding that the writer told her to "give your acceptance speech very long and thoroughly" because it was a daesang win.
Also known as the grand prize, daesang is the highest award given to a person in an awards show.
The 2021 SBS Drama Award was Kim So Yeon's second daesang award.
The first was taking home the grand prize at the 2016 Korea Drama Awards for her performance in "Happy Home."

Two years after "The Penthouse: War in Life" concluded with a major success, Kim So Yeon is back to K-dramaland with another interesting series.
He award winning star joins Kim Bum and Lee Dong Woo in "Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938."
Headlining the much awaited fantasy series, Kim So Yeon transforms into a mountain goddess named Ryu Hong Joo.
She is among the three deities alongside Lee Yeon (Lee Dong Wook) and Cheon Moo Young (Ryu Kyung Soo).
In a series of teasers released by tvN, viewers get to see Kim So Yeon's versatility in doing intense drama and a bit of action.
Interestingly, "Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938" release date is set for May 6, airing every Saturday and Sunday.
