Gong Yoo Update

Gong Yoo has been open about his thoughts about plans in show business, but the South Korean top star rarely talks about his family and his relationship with his parents.

During his appearance on YouTube channel "TEO," the "Goblin" star appeared as the first guest for the segment "Salon Drip," hosted by Jang Do Yeon.

The top star casually answered random questions, from his friendship with Lee Dong Wook and Son Heung Min, to his connection with his mother.

As obtained by a media outlet, one of the questions was about Gong Yoo's parents. He described them as "ordinary," like the usual mother and father to a son.

However, he talked about how both of them reacted after seeing their son flourish as one of South Korea's top stars.

"As I began to walk on the path of being an actor, they said their son suddenly became an unusual person," he said.

The actor confessed that there might have been a "gap" that was formed because of it.

On the other hand, Gong Yoo seemed to understand why they felt that way, and the same goes with his parents.

"I said that at an award ceremony, and I guess my parents saw it. My mother said she did not tell me to think that way. I think she might have felt sorry about that," he explained.

Gong Yoo's parents must have been proud of their son, considering the achievements he received as an actor. As a payback for their sacrifices, the actor revealed that he is gifting his mother, who will be 70 this June, a trip to Japan.

"She's traveling to Japan with her friends," he said; however, Gong Yoo hinted that she would receive more from her son.

"Mom thinks the Japan trip is my only gift, but I'm actually preparing another big present for you," the actor said, noting that he recently purchased a luxury watch as his second gift.

Gong Yoo didn't mention the name of the luxury watch but said that he used to be an ambassador for the brand.

Interestingly, his "Goblin" co-star Kim Go Eun is also one of the global ambassadors of Chanel.

Did Gong Yoo & Lee Dong Wook Fight Because of One Woman?

Speaking of "Goblin," Lee Dong Wook is also a close friend of Gong Yoo.

During his guest appearance in "Salon Drip," he was asked about the rumor regarding him and his co-star.

"Someone said you two fought at a fishing place because of a woman?" the host asked. He chose to dodge the question by jokingly asking Jang Do Yeon if she was that woman.

On the other hand, Gong Yoo revealed why he became close with professional soccer player Son Heung Min. According to the actor, he and the athlete have the same stylist.

Gong Yoo also shared that he recently went to London to watch Son Heung Min's game.
