BTOB member and actor Sungjae shared his honest opinion on why he refuses to lead rom-com K-dramas despite headlining several projects.

Yook Sungjae is one of the well-rounded idol-actors of his generation. Apart from his success in the music industry as a BTOB member, he has also established a name for himself in the acting scene.

In particular, idols-turned-actors usually have a hard time breaking free from their idol image, but it's different for Sungjae. Thanks to his amazing acting skills, the 28-year-old star is praised for his versatility, boasting several big projects under his belt.

Some of his famous works are "Goblin," "Reply 1994," "Who Are You: School 2015," "Mystic Pop-up Bar," "The Golden Spoon," and more.

Sungjae Reveals Honest Reason for Refusing Lead Roles in Rom-Com Dramas

However, despite his long list of works, there is one common denominator among his projects: he was never the lead star for a romantic comedy drama.

In a KTown4U fansign event, a fan took the chance to ask the idol-actor why he has rejected lead roles in romantic-comedies. Surprisingly, his answer showed his dedication to his work.

According to Sungjae, he wants some time to pass before he stars in rom-coms for the reason that he still doesn't know what love is like. The actor said that he hopes to experience real romance first before accepting a role that requires him to act like he is in love.
